+Pat in Louisiana Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Why do the milestone statistics stop at 1000? Quote
+dfx Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Because the next milestone you'll see after 1000 is the 2000 one. Quote
+Pat in Louisiana Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 Thanks, Looks like I need a few hundred more Quote
+Harry Dolphin Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It does seem a bit strange having smeone else declare what your milestones numbers are. Quote

+hzoi Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I let the site track some of my stats, but milestones is one of the stats I do myself because of this. (I hate the maps, too, so I load my own maps as well.) Quote
+Team GPSaxophone Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It does seem a bit strange having smeone else declare what your milestones numbers are. I'd rather have 42 and 1337 as milestones rather than some arbitrary round numbers like 100 or 1000. Quote

Can I haz milestones at 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 plz? kthxbai. Quote

+lamoracke Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I would agree more control of the milestones would make the stats more appealing to me personally. My 25th find meant nothing to me but my 1500th was the ape cache. Not there. My 2500th was a great challenge. Not there. I would love the see the milestones more flexible. I doubt any stock answer would appeal to folks. If it was say every 100, I know many cachers with a lot more finds than me would hate to see their finds listed out for every 100, it would take up so much space. For me, I still like #1 and then every 100. Quote
tttedzeins Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 You guys don't get it 1000 milestone is a kilo milestone the next one would have to be 1 000 000 or a mega milestone. 2000 wouls be a 2 kilo milestone. Quote

For me, I still like #1 and then every 100. This is true. The current system is close to how I think of milestones -- as I get more Finds they get further and further apart. At first I paid attention to every 100 but now it's more like every 500. I used to have them listed out on my profile by 100s but, even with my number of Finds, that list soon became too long to be of any use -- 30+ caches, many of which had no meaning. Once I got into the four-digit club I have to admit I pretty much stopped paying attention, other than #3000 because I wanted to make GeoWoodstock8 a milestone for me. Most times on those rare occasions when someone asks me how many Finds I have I don't even know so I have to give some ballpark number. The good news is that everyone can still display whatever milestones they want on their profile, they just have to do it manually. I opted to list every 500 on my main profile page. Quote
