entogeek Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) As requested, here's a thread to discuss this challenge cache. Credit for the idea behind this particular challenge goes to an unnamed cacher who shall remain nameless - for the time being. Edited March 27, 2011 by entogeek Quote
TrimblesTrek Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 " Halloween October 31, 2011 (not a fixed date each year) " Huh? Since when is Halloween not a fixed date? Just wondering what your thinking is for this. Quote
entogeek Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 Sorry, my mistake. Trick or treating has been known to be on a day other than Hallowe'en to accommodate school kids, but you're right, Hallowe'en is on October 31. Grid has been fixed. Quote
entogeek Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 The link for summer solstice is broken. Fixed - thanks for letting me know. Quote

Skyecat Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I noticed there are no dates we can observe between Jun 21 and Halloween, almost 4 months. Hope someone sends a reminder so I don't forget. Quote

Paul n Susan Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I thought the first challenge was tough because we all have commitments on holidays, but holy cow, Groundhog Day is on a Thursday, April Fool's is on a Friday, etc, etc ... I've often thought that this little hobby was going to get my a** fired. Quote

I was thinking the exact same thing! It's not too late to make a change, at least for any day but today. If you observe talk like a pirate day post your protests here so we can take back our challenges! Arg! Quote
Max and 99 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I absolutely LOVE this challenge cache idea. I wish there was one in my area! If I placed one, it sure would be hard to wait a year for FTF. Quote
all4familycaching Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 We tried for 3 different icons tonight but only managed a traditional Puzzle might be MIA and the multi's math was not working in our favor. Plus our daughter was under dressed for the weather and was freezing so we left. Maybe for the next day I'll plan it a little better. Quote
KDotBlueDot Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Found Geofellas April Fools 2006 'Drip' series on the 5th anniversary of it's placement. Quote

KDotBlueDot Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 EXACTLY why we grabbed it now. Funny though, our legs still itched like crazy all the way back home. Reading the logs totally gave us the heebie jeebies. Quote
Fababoo Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) I managed an unknown and a traditional. The multi was mia for me. Got back to a good old Zoly cache I had my first real great geocaching adventure at that my son and I DNF'd about 5 years ago where he was wearing his Tai Kwon Do uniform. It's amazing to go back to places like this and see how the landscape has changes. Both times it was in the dark but the lands around there is breaking up like an earthquake went through. The path I took out before was completely washed away. What a great way to start of the challenge(s). So, no takers on the protest? Edited April 2, 2011 by Fababoo Quote
