London Geocache/real ale Crawl! *help!*

Hi There!

A friend of mine had a good idea for a birthday adventure. A Geocaching crawl of London visiting some great real ale pubs along the way.

I was wondering if any of you have ever done anything like this or have any favourite London Geocaches or even pubs that could make for an interesting day out

I'm not too bothered where it starts or ends but would be nice to have a good 4/5 hour round trip

If you have any ideas I would be so greatful :)

...that's not me (man with funny hat)!

A couple of suggestions;

If you can, visit this cache/pub in the City;

My link The 16th Century Pub, however, it's closed at weekends. :(

Another pub which is near Marylebone station;

Sounds like a good idea to me but I'm not sure how many caches would get done :lol: There are a lot of cracking pubs around the City... just look up a few of the smaller side streets or start in Leadenhall Market and work your way out. If you want a really old place to start, there's always the Jerusalem Tavern just round the corner from Farringdon Station but as Goldpot says, a lot of them don't open at the weekend. When were you planning this escapade?

This is my suggestion for crawl in around Covent Garden without having to crawl too far :anitongue: ;

The Harp, Chandos Place - CAMRA's National pub of the year!

Salisbury, St Martins Lane - Famous for its cut glass!

Lamb & Flag, tucked off Garrick Street - Olde Worlde

Freemason Arms, Long Acre - Victorian Sheps' Pub

Cross Keys, Endell Street - Stuffed Fishes!

Thanks guys, this is great stuff!

Aiming for the 9th April. A friend of mine has a CAMRA app on his iphone so we looked at a few from there and I will be taking your advice goldpot!

I think we have a route planned which is based on a 3 hour walk on both sides of the river doing some interesting caches and 2 multi caches. We are then heading to our local in Brixton to plant our first cache with some trackables inside

Does anyone have a favourite cache on the river thames?
