+newmancrew
We are in Seattle (from Dallas) visiting and we have found a few caches in the area. Does anyone have any recommendations for not to be missed caches (with kids)? We are staying in the Queen Anne area and doing all the usual touristy things. We have yet to find any TB's or PT's. We are leaving some of both here. The Pathtags we are leaving are TheShearers pathtag (also from the Dallas area) and PTC pathtags (we don't have a NewmanCrew PT). Would anyone in this area be interested in trading while we are here (leaving Saturday March 19th)? Also, we have not seen a single cache with an accurate inventory list. I've seen this in Texas sometimes, but none of the caches here seem to have what they say they have. Are we just being unlucky or is that a common issue here? Thanks for any suggestions! +BCandMsKitty
You'd get a lot more comments if this were posted in the regular Geocaching Topics forum. Very often, the TB inventory gets messed up. Sometimes in active areas, it is more often just a posting lag than not. Edited March 16, 2011 by BC & MsKitty Quote Link to comment

NewmanCrew Agreed that this is a Geocaching topic and should be brought up either there, or in a regional forum. But as to your question about accurate inventory lists... there is not such thing. I don't know where you got that idea. The only time that could possibly be accurate is when the cache is first published. The cache owner has no idea what has been traded for what. Even the trackable inventory (travel bugs and geocoins) are often in error, and those are maintained by the website. Quote Link to comment

NewmanCrew Check out WSGA Faves: Seattle for some Seattle area recommendations. The cache really close to you that I always recommend is disabled. Be sure not to miss Kerry Viewpoint Park for a great view of Seattle. Quote Link to comment
+newmancrew
Ok, thanks for the Seattle list suggestion and I'll move the post to the Geocaching forum. I thought since I was also talking about Pathtags, which I had heard Geocaching.com frowns upon, it would be better here. When I say the inventory list is not accurate, what I mean is, the TB's and coins listed as being put into the cache and still part of it's current inventory are not accurate. In the Dallas area (and other states we've cached in) we have run into TB's listed as being in a cache that were not actually in the cache. I know that happens a lot when they are removed and not logged. But, we've never seen 100% of all TB's listed in caches, not in the caches. We have specifically targeted caches on this trip that have TB's so we can exchange the ones we brought, but every single cache we have found that says it has a TB, does not. Some say they have 2, 3 or 4 and one downtown said it had 25! None of them had any. I've never seen so many be inaccurate. Thanks for the suggestions! Quote Link to comment

+newmancrew
Take a look at this thread and the WSGA link in the last post. Well, that explains it. I thought it was odd that so many were listed but none existed. I was excited to bring some TB's to the Seattle area from Texas. I assumed it would be a great location for them with such an active community up here. I had no idea it was a Black Hole for Travel Bugs. I am a little bummed! Thanks for the information.
