Moun10Bike Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 I have now failed to receive my Pocket Queries for the last two days in a row. I assume that I am not the only one, although I have not seen anyone else mention any problems here in the forums. Is this already a known issue?
+Fattuhr Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 I didn't get Monday's. As for Tuesday, it is far from over. Maybe we'll get it sometime later today. My wife says put a coordinate on it and I'll find it.
+Kodak's4 Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 Didn't get one yesterday, and I didn't think much about it. But I didn't get one this morning, either. So I'm seeing the same thing you are.
+Schmidt-Family Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 Same here. I first thought it was because I tweaked of my queries. Misery loves company so I'm glad others are having the same problem.
+Jeremy Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 I used to have a query run daily for me to ensure it was working. I'll set that up again. It'll take a bit of time to regenerate them but you should get them today. Jeremy Irish Groundspeak - The Language of Location
+Fattuhr Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 Jeremy for all your hard work. My wife says put a coordinate on it and I'll find it.

Moun10Bike Posted October 1, 2002 Author Posted October 1, 2002 I've really come to rely on those Pocket Queries! I love going paperless.
+Strix Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 Jeremy, you 'da man! Thanks! "When the chips are down, the buffalo ate birds."
+Borgt Posted October 3, 2002 Posted October 3, 2002 I haven't received a pocket query since the 28th

Moun10Bike Posted October 5, 2002 Author Posted October 5, 2002 I may be jumping the gun a bit, but there were no Pocket Queries for me this morning. My first 4 usually arrive at 12:01-12:02 AM, with my 5th coming along a couple of hours later. I have none in my inbox this morning.

+Borgt Posted October 6, 2002 Posted October 6, 2002 I got one on the 4th (after my post above), but none since.

+Fattuhr Posted October 7, 2002 Posted October 7, 2002 I usually get mine very early in the morning as well, but have not received them yet this morning. It is early in the day though, and is plenty of time for them still to come. Jeremy has pointed out befroe that after a busy weekend things tend to run a little slower on Monday. Hopefully they will be here later in the day. My wife says put a coordinate on it and I'll find it.
+Uncle Alaska Posted October 7, 2002 Posted October 7, 2002 I'm pretty sure I set up all the parameters correctly, yet I have not received a single e-mail to date. (After about a week). But, then again, maybe I'm not pushing the right buttons..

Moun10Bike Posted October 7, 2002 Author Posted October 7, 2002 quote:Originally posted by Fattuhr: It is early in the day though, and is plenty of time for them still to come. Yes, there is still plenty of time for Jeremy to restart the queries manually. However, it is clear that the automatic query run has failed today, as it always launches at midnight, regardless of whether or not it was a busy weekend.
+Jeremy Posted October 7, 2002 Posted October 7, 2002 It takes about 4 hours to generate them at the start of each day. It apparently crashed so I am restarting it now. You should expect to get them by the end of the day. They actually run continuously throughout the day, but do not start the daily ones until after midnight. +Fattuhr Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 It seems that the site was down for several hours this morning. Did it affect the queries for this morning? My wife says put a coordinate on it and I'll find it.
+Egnix Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Hrrrmmmm... haven't gotten my queries today... Am I the only one? Guess it follows Murphy's law...when you need them the most, you don't get them.
+Team Troglodyte Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 Our Pocket Queries have been intermittent lately and one, (the most important one in some ways) hasn't shown up for several days. We had one configured for locationless caches, and the query seemed to run fine until a week or so ago. Now it doesn't run at all. I've tried changing some of the parameters, but short of changing the whole nature of the query, it won't run. Of course it's hard to experiment too much since you can only run the query once a day. Any ideas (Jeremy?)?
+Fattuhr Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Anybody been missing there's lately? Just wondering since I haven't received mine today. My wife says put a coordinate on it and I'll find it.
Moun10Bike Posted November 11, 2002 Author Posted November 11, 2002 I sent email to the Groundspeak guys this morning when mine didn't show up. (As I mentioned in a previous post, mine start arriving at about midnight, so if they aren't there by the time I wake up, there is usually something wrong.) They then restarted the queries, and as a result, they started coming through about 9-1/2 hours later than normal. You should eventually receive them. Man, I can't believe how lost I am when they don't come through! []
+Team Headrush Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 I received only one of the ones I had scheduled for on Friday, and I haven't received any since.(No Sat, Sun, or Mon). +gpsfun Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 and already received the data. It's the first time I've used the feature.
+Markwell Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 I got an e-mail from Jeremy indicating that they were "stuck" yesterday morning. All is well. Markwell Chicago Geocaching
+Borgt Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 I've been getting mine reliably for some time, but suddenly they stopped. Bad timing since I'm taking a trip in a couple of days! I still hope that soon they will be produced/sent on demand.

+Fattuhr Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 I haven't gotten mine this morning. Usually have them around four a.m. My wife says put a coordinate on it and I'll find it.
+Markwell Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 I have noticed they've been running, but VERY slowly. I got my query #175 about 4 pm yesterday (I assume they run in sequential order). Markwell Chicago Geocaching

Elias Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 We're having some trouble with the query engine failing and it requires a manual restart. I restarted it around 9:30 AM PST so queries should be going out soon. -Elias
+Borgt Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 It's 7:00 p.m. and I've only received one of my queries The one I received is for my local caches, the one I don't need for my trip
+Markwell Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 Mine are still only trickling in. I haven't received my last one from yesterday either... Markwell Chicago Geocaching
+Fattuhr Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 Got all of mine yesterday, but haven't seen today's. Usually get it before I get to work at 4:00 a.m. My wife says put a coordinate on it and I'll find it.

iryshe Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 We switched our email servers last night and due to the additional problem with the pocket queries breaking in the morning, some didn't go out. All of them went out today. Jeremy Irish Groundspeak - The Language of Location
+Borgt Posted December 4, 2002 Posted December 4, 2002 For the past few days I've only been receiving the first query on my list. Anyone else having this problem?
+Fattuhr Posted December 4, 2002 Posted December 4, 2002 I received all of mine this morning. My wife says put a coordinate on it and I'll find it.
