+Wylymama24
I have run into several people who participate in this great sport and want to find them and possible start a local group. Any ideas on how I would go about this. I live in a rural area that has LOTS of caches and would love to link to others. Email me or find me as "Wyly Family" Quote Link to comment
+Chokecherry
You can go to some local events or semi-local events. I've run into other caches while out caching too. Quote Link to comment
GOF and Bacall
Start by posting to the West and South West regional forum. Also, Google is your friend. I found the SGC that way. Quote Link to comment

+cache_test_dummies
As already mentioned, events are a great way to meet local geocachers. I've also met a number of local geocachers while hunting for caches that are less than a day old. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
As already mentioned, events are a great way to meet local geocachers. I've also met a number of local geocachers while hunting for caches that are less than a day old. No need to wait for an event to come along either. Host one and ge it listed yourself. Anybody can do it!! Quote Link to comment
+Wylymama24
Actually hosting an event sounds great, I just want to go to one first so I know what is going on. We live in a rural area but there are lots of caches here and beautiful scenery. Anyone could easily spend a week here and not find them all. If anyone is ever in my area look me up.... +geodarts
Try contacting some of the owners of caches near you. See if some if the finders appear to be local. Also, check out the Kern County Cachers facebook page - people there might be familiar with what is happening in your area. Quote Link to comment
