+LDB415
Those of you familiar with various books on geocaching please advise on which books are good and which to not bother with. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
TheCacheSeeker
Those of you familiar with various books on geocaching please advise on which books are good and which to not bother with. Thanks. The book that the Lackeys (people that work at Groundspeak) wrote: The complete idiots guide to geocaching 2nd edition is a great book. Quote Link to comment
+Max and 99
I bought The Idiot's Guide to Geocaching years ago, and enjoyed browsing through it when I first got started. Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
I've never read a book about geocaching, haven't even seen one. Groundspeak puts a lot of effort into their Knowledge Books: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb Quote Link to comment
+sibermouse
If I am right the one that most of the posted replys mentioned is this one Complete Idiots Guide Geocaching available in paper back (£7.31) or for the kindle ebook (£6.94) Quote Link to comment

Groundspeak puts a lot of effort into their Knowledge Books: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb I'll agree with reading this free one. It covers most of what you need for Geocaching. Much of the rest is best taught by experience and asking the occasional question here in the forums. Quote Link to comment

That's the best one I've seen, but most people pick geocaching up as they go. Really no need for a book. Quote Link to comment
+kwitsman
I really enjoyed the Joy of Geocaching book. It not only talks about the hobby but profiles some of the current "stars" of caching. They probably would not like to be called stars, but they have great tips and a few have inspiring stories. I will include the link, just in case you are interested. +tomfuller & Quill
I have here on my bookshelf "The Essential Guide to Geocaching" by Mike Dyer and "GPS Navigation Guide" by Jack W. Peters. The navigation guide comes with a topo map ruler and covers a lot more than just geocaching. I wish more cachers carried and knew how to use a compass. Your compass can save your life in a steep canyon. Quote Link to comment
+Gackt
Geocaching in the UK http://www.cicerone.co.uk/product/detail.cfm/book/609/title/geocaching-in-the-uk A fairly new book. Good for those very new to the activity. A few small sections are specific to the UK though, hence the title. Quote Link to comment
+PWill21
I also like the Idiots Guide; it's simple and (relatively) short, yet extensive and broad. It covers nearly everything and is a great read to get started in all things Geocaching! Quote Link to comment
