Bobalooee
I'm going to Alabama Thursday and have tried loading a few caches in my Garmin etrex. For some reason they won't load. I have no problem with loading Caches in Tennessee. Any suggustions? Quote Link to comment
Polar B's
Is it possible that your etrex is full? Quote Link to comment
Bobalooee
I empty it after every outing. Quote Link to comment
Gitchee-Gummee
Are you sure that they didn't load? Many GPSr units will load, but won't show geocaches beyond something like 500 miles. Once you are within that range, they magically show up. +JBnW
I forget the eTrex menu list, but when you search for caches, try the "search by name" option rather than "search for nearest". Most of the Garmins will only display "nearest" caches within 50 miles or so of your current location. Quote Link to comment
Bobalooee
Would a pocket query help? Edited February 23, 2011 by Bobalooee Quote Link to comment
aka Momster
I don't have experience with an etrex, but on my GPSr(s) I can see distantly loaded geocaches by changing my reference point. Quote Link to comment
JBnW
Would a pocket query help? Yep. So would Cache-along-a-Route if you know which roads you're likely to take. Quote Link to comment

Bobalooee
Fish Whisperer is right. I chaged to "Find by Name" and that took care of the problem.(duh) Thanks so much I knew one of the pros would have the answer. Quote Link to comment

Bobalooee
Well, it's been a week since my trip to Fairhope, Alabama. Had a blast!! All caches loaded and introduced a friend to the addiction. I didn't think about Mardi Gras being so soon. We attended a parade Saturday night and did a little cashing Sunday morning around the pier. Weather couldn't have been better. Everything was in bloom, contraary to Tennessee. Am planning for next year! Thanks for all your help in solving my problem! Quote Link to comment
