+herbk
Steve L and I are both premium members. We were caching together last week, when I discovered that my Customized Search (Mobipocket) file had disappeared from my Palm. This happens if one accidentally tries to open the file with a different reader. Steve L, who also had the file on his Palm tried to beam it to mine. We discovered that it was security protected and could not be beamed. Now, I understand that Jeremy legitimately wants to restrict premium member perks to premium members. However, the .loc and .prc files that we download from Pocket Query Generator could be installed on any Palm and any Garmin GPS. So why prevent beaming? Is that tiny bit of added security meaningful? iryshe
Not really. I'll check to see if there is a configuration change I can make to allow it to be beamed. Jeremy Irish Groundspeak - The Language of Location Link to comment
+parkrrrr
I think the bit that prevents beaming is the "Copy Protect" bit. You can turn it on and off with rsrcedit and probably some other programs. Be careful with rsrcedit, though; you can do some irreversible damage with that program. Link to comment
