+morribry001
Recently, I've been trying to hide caches. I have tried three times. All three times, the were either too close to a missing cache, muggled, or the coordnates are wrong. Can anybody give me any tips and pointers to help me successfully place a cache? +deranja
Go find another 50 before you do anything else. I hid my first cache with 10 hides or so, it just might take some trial and error, try taking a set of coords, walk around with your GPS for a bit then come back and take another set. As for your cache being muggled well that just happens as does haveing your hide rejected because its to close to a mystery. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Caches get muggled - happens to all of us from time to time. Choose a container with a seal that can hold up to the conditions year around at the proposed cache site. Load ALL the caches in the area on your GPS unit before you make a new hide and then check your GPS to make sure you are at least 528 feet from any listed cache. Average your coordinates or take multiple readings to make sure you got them right. Re-read all the guidelines. When you think you know them - go back and REALLY read them. Then just to be sure - read them one more time. If your hide fits nicely in all of them - you should be ok. Quote Link to comment
