+Michaelcycle
We travel often so every one of my "00" caches has been found out of state and many have been out of country. We especially enjoyed #1000, the webcam at the top of Mauna Kea at nearly 14,000'. Yes, we definitely planned that one. Quote Link to comment
+Manville Possum
I am at 497 finds and 96 hides. I am also a active waymarker, but I only seek geocaches with my kids. I enjoy developing historically accurate geocaches. Quote Link to comment
+BBWolf+3Pigs
I am at 1931, with 2000 quickly approaching. I have a trip to TX, OK, and AR planned for early March, so I may use a cache on the trip for #2000. I will be stopping in PAris, TX, so maybe I will use the Virtual at the mini-Eifel Tower there for the milestone. Just silly enough to make it memorable. Quote Link to comment
+softballmom19
I wasn't even paying attention when I found my first 100 caches. I'm now at almost 300 and that was done in just over a year. My goal was to get 300 in a year and I almost did that missed by about 8 caches. I just go out when I can and do what I can. I'm not that picky but I do try to pick places that don't have a big muggle factor since I don't seem to be good at being sneaky or I look to sneaky that I tend to get someone asking me what I'm doing. Friends of ours realized on 12/31 that they were 10 caches shy of 200 for their first year. Unfortunately, there was a snow storm. Somehow they got out and got their 10 caches, but it wasn't easy. We grabbed a couple that day, but 10 just wouldn't have been fun in that weather. Quote Link to comment

+Team GPSaxophone
I hit #2700 last month and #2800 last night. Although I list each "00" cache in my profile, my next "milestone" will be #3000. it used to be a special number in Colorado where you'd get a coin for it but too many people started hitting that number. If I can, I'll plan to do "THE FALCON CHALLENGE!" for #3000. That would be cool, and at my current rate I should get there in early April. If the snow melts enough by then I could do it. +ayrbrain
My next milestone is 60 lol but i am pleased i have got that far, OH isn't interested but comes along with me, it has shown us areas of our home town that we did not know about. There is one nearby that i tried the other night (I need to do this at night!!!!) but i couldn't reach it grrrrrr but OH said he would get it for me when in casual wear (he was in his suit)I thought it might have been my 50th but no! so hopefully my 70th as I need to try another closer to home tomorrow, to put a TB in. I am so so hooked on this sport! Quote Link to comment
+bflentje
I used to do something special for each 100 milestone. When I hit a thousand I didn't bother until every 500 finds. Now that I am approaching 5000, I only care about every thousand finds. At each 1000, I always hit the coolest cache I can find in the area I happen to be in. 1000 MN's north shore 2000 VA False Cape SP 3000 Abandoned lighthouse 40 miles south of Venice, LA 4000 a 4/4 multicache in Winona, MN 5000 will be this coming July, somewhere in the WA or OR area, one of the triads I more or less look at every day I can get out as a milestone. hoosier guy
We are currently at #198... and I am hoping to get the entire family out for a nice hike to get number 200. There is a multi near our home that involves an outhouse... since we got married in front of an old outhouse (classy, aren't we?) I am hoping we can do that one and maybe take a fun photo kissing by it or something goofy like that. My favorite milestone so far was #150 which also happened to be our first FTF! We don't go after FTFs, so having that one fall into place was pretty awesome. I would really like to hear that story sometime! Quote Link to comment
+Don_J
Next big milestone will be 5000. I always make the K caches special. 1K - Climbed up a trail less waterfall for cache that has only been found 25 times since placed in 4/01. 2K - High peak with a indescribable view 3K - High in the mountains with a view of the valley I live in. 4K - Los Angeles's 10 Year event. I have no idea where 5K will be, but I know where it won't be. Quote Link to comment

You can read our log (there is even a photo from our outhouse wedding ) here. And yes, we really did have something old (the old outhouse we got married in front of, which used to belong to my great grandparents) something new (a handbuilt two seater with a picture window on loan from a friend of ours) something borrowed (the same) and something blue (a sanican my dad brought in for the festivities). What great story. I'll admit that I don't understand the outhouse thing, but I'm happy that you have a loving marriage, and I'll congratulate you on your milestone. I think the greatest thing about Geocaching is that you can do it at your own pace. Believe me, while you are claiming a 200 milestone, someone drove down a highway in Nevada an grabbed 500. I'm much more interested in the stories behind the cache. I'm at 4703. I have a feeling that you are having a much better time finding caches than I am. I have found all the good ones. I'm to the point that I'll only go on a urban run if I can be with a group of friends. Quote Link to comment

We decided early on that we were going to take it slow and enjoy each cache... although the pace has picked up quite a bit since we've gone paperless. I also love that each person can play this game his/her own way, and I love hearing about everyone else's caching adventures. Some of those number runs sound pretty crazy! Quote Link to comment
jd-mitchell
Right now, I'm working on #50. Only 14 away. I'm just enjoying it. As for the outhouse story, I could say something about the marriage not going sown the sh*t chute, but I won't Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
Found #3000 today! Picked one by one of my favorite cache hiders. On a small island not far into the lake. We picked a 'frozen lake' day, and walked across the ice crust on the snow. Great hide. Great spot. Great cache. And, yeah, it was on my Ten-Mile List! Quote Link to comment

+humboldt flier
Heading out next week with caching buddy Patsu from Northern California. We are headed into Oregon to visit The Original Stash for his 2,000th and my 4,000th. While on the road we will venture into Washington State before turning south to attend the event in Coos Bay, Oregon followed by caching south along the coast as we return to N. Calif. +hukilaulau
My next milestone is 2922 finds by December of 2012. That will represent an average of a cache a day for eight years. Quote Link to comment
nobody137
My wife and I are working on #50 (feels almost embarrassed by this number compared to others). We're only 16 away, so we're really excited. We hope to celebrate this by debuting our signature items, which is a pair of custom wooden nickels. Just waiting on getting the pen in so I can get started on them. Quote Link to comment
+popokiiti
We did an Earthcache for Popoki Nui's 1000th find today. We sat on the beach afterwards and drank in the warmth, the lapping of the ocean, the giant till ball in front of us and wondered what the heck the top of a cooking onion was doing there.... My 1000th is about 90 away...no plans yet. Quote Link to comment
+aurght
Our 200th find is a little embarrassing -- the English description says it all. "This is a Lame Micro." After that one, we've tried to keep our century milestones a little more meaningful. A cool cache, a great hike, a new state or country cached, a cache type we don't have many of, a nice event. Anything's better than having "Lame Micro" stuck in our list! Quote Link to comment
+aurght
I'm a caching junkie. I don't care if it's a smelly dumpster or an LPC, I'll go for it. I spent one session in a sewer smelly park, and enjoyed it. I remember many special finds or hunts. #500 was 40 miles out of the way just to score an interesting one for the milestone. #800 was today, just happened to be a guardrail. I just enjoy caching!! May try to arrange something special for 1000. For me, it's every caching adventure, not the landmarks. Quote Link to comment
+TheLoneGrangers
We are at 97, and I hope to get South Carolinas oldiest active cache this weekend. Murdoc Stash or cache lol. Its not hugely important for us to have it at a 100, so if we don't feel like driving 80 miles saturday morning, we will just stay locally. +Chief301
I'm approaching #100 and I'm making plans for it to be "View Carre" in New Orleans. I hear it's an awesome cache and everybody around here recommends it. Will give me an excuse to upgrade to Premium Membership too because it's a PMO... Should be going for it right in the middle of the Mardi Gras season, too, so I've got that going for me as well Quote Link to comment

+KBLAST
I saw this thread and it's funny - we all hear the word milestone and we immediately think of how many caches we've found. I actually do celebrate and have gotten a special cache at every 50 - on the 50s I do something for me, and on the 00's we do something as a family. Well, we did until 1000, when as a family we decided to do something on the 00's that would be cool, but it may not involve the entire family (my youngest is 3). So for number 1000, I went to Washington and visited Groundspeak HQ. Lots of pictures, and lots of presents for the little ones. I just did 1200 and had my family there as I reached a cache about 60 feet up in the air. 1250 will be this weekend - I'm still debating what to try to make it! But on the other hand, we have other milestones... a guy around here made a VERY special cache for his 100th hide. There are rumors of one of the most notorious hiders of all time coming out of retirement for his 200th hide. And for me... another major milestone is coming up soon. I read a thread once that said, "Don't let your 100th post be lame." I read that clear back when I started reading the forums, and I am now approaching that milestone and look forward to my 100th post... something I've been planning for some time! I can't wait! edited because even after almost 100 posts, I can't remember to leave the dang brackets off my smiley faces in the forums. Edited February 15, 2011 by KBLAST Quote Link to comment
+Geoscouts.eu
Our 100th we stumbled on by accident. It would have been a boring motorway stop but we missed the exit and by chance our next cache was quite a find. A puzzle cache with monumental location. For 200 we made a point of getting a multi in a martyr village which we had our eye on. We got it New Year's Day. For 250 we found our 2nd Earthcache and for the next milestone 300 we will hopefully be on our way down to Spain. So 300 may be the last webcam cache in France or our first cache in a different country or one of two high profile caches near the border which would get us listed on cacherstats. Yes, we like to make the effort for the milestones. For 500 it would be nice to get it at the UK South Wales Mega event which we hope to visit this summer. Quote Link to comment
