Guest Ttepee
I'm trying to work the bugs out of a traveler that I'd like to send out but could use the advice from some of you that have tried things like this before. I would like to hide the traveler near a monument... no real park or hike involved... once the traveler is picked up I thought I could change the cache to a virtual cache... at the monument... but also use the page to keep up with the travelers progress... am I looking for trouble with that?... I plan on stating that the travler can be hidden in a cache or used as a standalone cache (since she's pretty weather proof)... then if someone hides it seperate from a cache they could notify me of the coordinates and I could change the coordinates on the webpage so that she would "be announced" so to speak, in the area. Is this possible? When she is a stand alone cache I could still have written on the page the coordinates for the virtual cache... but it wouldn't be logable then... or would it... what am I missing here? Guest arffer
a monument, and once the hitchhiker leaves still have the monument as a virtual, then you are talking about two caches rather than one. The hitchhiker will need a set oc co-ordiantes that are updated as it moves, and the virtual monument cache will have static co-ordinates. Both will need to be announced so that folks know where they are. This can't be done with a single cache. So, I would suggest that you ste up the virtual monument cache first, and then set up the hitchhiker cache and give it the same initial co-ordiantes (most of us set the hitchhiker's co-ordiantes one digit off in the thousandth's place just to be safe). You can then list the hitchhiker as the one initial item at/in the virtual cache, and once hes gone, then just the virtual is left. Quote Link to comment
