+richard.tufty
Can anyone help with generating PQs from the Googlemaps view please? The info I found suggests that once I can see the caches on the map view all I need to do is click on the Create Pocket Query button to the right and whatever I can see on the map will be used to generate a PQ, using the centre of the map as the PQ centre co-ords. Well it works to a point, in that I get a PQ generated, but the map view will show say 38 caches and the PQ result is 100+! I haven't used any filters to reduce the caches in either view by the way. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong, or is this normal behaviour? If so, which is the correct number of caches? Is the map view missing them off or is the PQ generation going wider than my map view? Thanks for any tips, Richard Quote Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
Have you tried zooming out on the map to see if the number changes? Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
The map is a rectangle. The query you run is a circle with the same center point as the map rectangle. The query returns all caches within your specified radius of that point. Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
What StarBrand said. I usually use the "PQ from Google Map" just to get the center point. I then fine-tune the radius until it returns the number I'm interested in. Quote Link to comment
