Is there a GeoCache discussion thread pertaining to the NASCAR GeoRace? I could not find one. So I'll start one with this message. A place where we can cheer for the GeoRacers. And discuss and plan moves from one cache to the next. If there are fans that want to make cache links or that are attending races, let them speak here to coordinate the their efforts. I suppose that as this race evolves that cachers could plan routes and stage accordingly for maximum point scores at races or by distance. That would be interesting. Are there NASCAR forums that we could cross-post to in order to draw in fans to introduce Geocaching?

Shouldn't GeoRacer 18 Bobby Labonte get points for a third state - Colorado?

I don't know who's keeping score so I'm emailing this to all 3 of you.

I want to make an entry in next year's race. If Bobby is still taken, I will enter Tony Stewart.

Fly like the wind GeoRacer 18 (Bobby Labonte)!

Go GeoRacers!

Help me win the 2002 Winston Cup Championship. I want to prove that I am worthy of running with the good old boys when I grow up, so I am trying to win the 2002 Geocaching Junior Winston Cup Championship. Help me out and maybe one day you can tell your friend that you knew me when I was just a little guy and you help me win my first championship. How can you help? I get points for many things, they are listed below. I love visiting Winston Cup race tracks, with pictures to prove that I have been there, so when I return after I grow up I won't have to run as a rookie. I love hanging out with the "Good Old Boys and Girl" so if you see him or any of the other boys or girls have them pose for a picture with me, or maybe a picture of one of them with me close by. When not chillin with the boys or girl I like to rev engines with the other race cars. I may be little but if I hang around with the big race cars I know I can learn a lot about how to handle the draft at the big tracks, the tight racing at the other tracks, so if a car is near you or even a show car ( who know the stories these guys can tell) get pictures of me hanging with them. The season runs from 2/17/2002 (The Daytona 500) to 11/17/2002 (The Homestead 400). Help me win, the points list is below. Thanks and may you always have a friend to draft with. Little Million Dollar Bill (only $4.95 now but with your help, who knows) Home State: Florida, Starting Cache DoubleBranch, Tampa, FL This is a Travel Bug that is in a race with 2 other "NASCAR race car" Travel Bugs. All three cars were released on 17 February, the same day as the Daytona 500. At this point, I am willing to do anything to assist my Rusty Wallace #2 Georacer. If getting on this discussion group will attract others, hopefully in my area, to seek out my racer and help him along. So far, I have driven to Raleigh (about 53 miles), to start him in a cache that might get more traffic. Luck has it that he sits there for a week. Then he makes his first stop into a cache in my town, about 1 mile from my house, in a cache that I own. Talk about luck. Then I make a note entry on my Travel bug site only to accidently log it as taken. So for about a week I actually showed that I had removed the travel bug from the cache. This must equate to having engine problems, tire problems and brake problems during a race. I can't get out of the pits. It is almost too funny except that I am falling behind the Bobby Labonte TB. I see GeoRacer #18 (Bobby Labonte) is in Utah already! Wow!

The #2 car and #9 are hoping for a caution to get their laps back.

On-the-other-hand, they maybe using fuel strategy... CONSERVE YOUR FUEL BOBBY!

Or maybe they are trying to take in some local NASCAR races/venues/photos, and get many points that way.

I think that the transponders on the cars may not be functioning correctly, because the scoreboard has not registered the last several laps. ;-)

I'm watching the Cannonball Racers make their way east, hoping that I can assist them on their way to the Atlantic.

Perhaps ya'll can do the same for the NASCAR racers, in their race to the Pacific and back.

PS What if a GeoRacer is placed in a cache that already has another GeoRacer?

Is that a crash?

Still, he took a beaded necklace, and we left behind the Cannonball Run Viper Travel Bug...somebody PLEASE take this further east! It's still in first place.

I don't have the number off the travel bug, but here's the link to its web site:

OK. We need somebody to get this GeoRacer TB over the Great Smokey Mountains into North Carolina or Virginia. I can pick him up in Virginia (and possibly West Virginia).

Go Speed Racer Go!

For the next race, do you use the same cars? or release some new ones?

who made it all the way to http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=10822 in Maine.

The new race is to see who can now make it all away around the world and back to Sacramento, CA; the starting point.

Using the same cars from their current locations.

So Firebird IROC would have a bit of a head start in the eastward direction.

But because Monte Carlo Concept is still near the starting point, it could go around in either direction.

And Dodge Viper RT/10 is still missing; or out with car trouble or something.

Current as of 12 July

1. Little Million Dollar Bill 775 points

2. Bobby Labonte Bug 680 Points

3. Rusty Wallace #2 Ford 595 Points

I had to move the Current Standings Page

Rusty was also picked up yesterday and heading to Iowa. Going to be tough with Little Bill getting the pictures at Daytona, but the race is still pretty tight. Let's Help Rusty get some points. Tony
