African Geocoins

I was wondering how many African themed coins there are. So far I've only been able to find about 5 (and most of them South African).

Having grown up mainly in Africa I'd quite like to find some African coins to add to my collection, or maybe design my own.

Does anyone know many there are and if they are still available to get?

Which 5 did you find? There was one to celebrate the World Cup last year.(in South Africa) Perhaps you could get Chris Rake to consider a version of his Nomad Coins to represent some African Nations?

These are the ones I've found so far - managed to find a couple more.

But only the Big Five and Team Fish Eagle coins really catch my eye.

You might wish to add S. Africa 2005 and Prowler53 African Lion to your list! Hope this is a help.

Another (South) Africa themed coin: Team Myth - Quest for The Big Five.

 

It was released in 2006 by Dutch geocachers 'Team Myth'. It's there in gold (RE) and silver (LE). Unfortunately these coins cannot be found easily anymore.

There are also a number of EGYPTIAN themed coins - scarbs, pyramids, mummies etc. So I guess they definitely qualify as African.

There is also a brand new African coin that should be out within the next few weeks - celebrating 10 years of Caching in South Africa.
