+HunterMy'key Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Hi everyone, In the statics there's a line phrase...."I've found 461 caches (458 distinct)" I wunder what Distinct means.. So I translated it. But still dark here..... I'm not aware of the fact i logged the same cache more then once... Would be quite a job to search which ones that should be. Is there an easy way to find out which cache i found or logged double? Quote
+gpsfun Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 One way to check this is to set up a "my finds" pocket query and load the results into GSAK. Once there, you can sort the logs by GC Code and any duplicates will be shown together. There are probably easier ways... Watch this space. Quote
+HunterMy'key Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) OK, I'll out myselve as a Noob. whut's a GSAK? Edited January 7, 2011 by HunterMy'key Quote
+Tequila Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 OK, I'll out myselve as a Noob. whut's a GSAK? Google it and you will get a link to the website where you can download a trial version. It is a 3rd party app that allows you to massage the PQ data in pretty much any way you would want. IMHO, once you try it, you will wonder how you ever lived without it. Quote
knowschad Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 GSAK is a 3rd party Windows application for handing .GPX files. Have you ever logged an event multiple times as a way to log temp caches at that event (not that I'm advocating that practice, but some do consider it valid logging)? Quote
+HunterMy'key Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Never been to an event yet. So the answer is no. I'll try GSAK later @home, my boss doesn't like Macro's... But it does mean i must have logged a few caches multiple then. Dang, i hate it when that happens Quote
+HunterMy'key Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) ok, installed gsak, run query...next problem showing: My founds are more then 500KM away and for some reason, query doesn't accept that. Shows me less founds. I think while a query takes out the doubles?? Edit: Your profile- geocaches- found it-....... copie the lot, into excel, sort by name And there ya go.... Found them, edited the bad boys, and all clean now. Still wunder if there isn't an easier way...gsak didnt do the trick. Tnx for the help, and Happy caching, HunterMy'key Edited January 7, 2011 by HunterMy'key Quote

Click that and it will generate a query with all of your finds, regardless of distance / etc. Quote
+moose61 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 GSAK will do the trick as wel. Load GPX file with our founds in GSAK and set a filter: My Found Count / Greater than or equal to / 2 This will list the caches with multiple entries. BTW, It's about time to go to an event. See you at the GeoFarm in May? The program looks great! Greetings, Moose61 Quote

Take time to get to know it. Quote

You probably know this by now, but FYI, GSAK is not a macro... it is an executable that can optionally use what it calls "macros", but are actually scripts written in a proprietary scripting language. +Flintstone5611 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Or you can download Cachestats from www.logicweave.com and when you introduce your 'My Finds' PQ you can sort by caches with multiple logs and you will find out immediately which caches are the culprites! Quote

Fred beat me to it. Cachestats is a much simpler (and smaller) program than GSAK, but still a very nice piece of work, and will tell you the "non-distinct" ones, although I'm sure the author doesn't use that exact term.
