+MrLifeboat
I'm looking for some advice from some more experienced users. I bought myself a Garmin GPSMAP 62s for Christmas and I have been slowly working myself through all of its functions. One thing I would like to know is if anyone could recommend any good open source (free maps) preferably contoured and also specifically for the United Kingdom. I have skimmed through this forum for similar posts but have found nothing to answer my question. Many thanks LB Quote Link to comment

+ecanderson
... preferably contoured ... Your options at gpsfiledepot are somewhat limited. This one http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/133/ may be of help. You might want to look at the UK specific maps mentioned in the following thread -> http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=216453 Quote Link to comment
+BCNorwich
Hello There, TalkyToaster does a real good UK map, OSM maps plus SMC contours. He updates them frequently, they'll go on most Garmin GPS's and they can be used in Mapsource or Basecamp. Be careful though you could easily get drawn into contributing to the OSM project as I have. Oh the link is here. Regards Bernard Now back to uploading Norfolk footpaths. Quote Link to comment
