+Matt1344 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 (edited) I want to check something. I just listed three unactivated 2003 USA geocoins on ebay and I say in the description that you can still activate them. Is this correct? I wouldn't want to steer anyone wrong. BTW, the numbers on these coins are under 10250. ETA: my ebay auction Edited December 24, 2010 by Matt1344 Quote
+Ruud4d Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 (edited) Yes, there is no problem with activating these coins. Edited December 24, 2010 by Ruud4d Quote

+Bhob Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 (edited) to the best of my knowledge, here is how it works - when a tracking code is purchased from Groundspeak (eg PCxxxx), it is assigned an item code (eg TBxxxxx) and an activation code, and all three of these are entered into the database immediately it then sits there patiently, waiting to be activated so, I would say that yes, any trackable from any time in the past will still be available to be activated, and then tracked, just like any other (more recent) trackable Edited December 26, 2010 by Bhob Quote
+Matt1344 Posted December 26, 2010 Author Posted December 26, 2010 (edited) Got curious so I wasted a little time checking the early coins' status. I discovered that of the first 151 USA coins (numbers 10000 through 10150), there are 44 that have not been activated. A few more have been activated but never released. Incidently, the very first USA coin (no. 10,000) just started traveling this year. Edited December 26, 2010 by Matt1344 Quote
