+TexasCacheCrew
I had been dumping only the .gpx file from my PQs into the gpx folder on my Oregon 400t. Somewhere on this forum I read that I should dump the .gpx and wpts.gpx files in there. I don't see anything different after I fire up my Oregon. What am I missing? Why do I need both? Thanks. +ecanderson
The associated waypoints *.gpx file contains info on trailhead locations, parking and all of the other coordinate data that some owners add to their cache page to make your life easier. Quote Link to comment
+ecanderson
Perhaps to clarify a bit more - Those items in the waypoints file show up as waypoints, not as additional entries in the cache list. If the cache description talks about starting at the supplied coordinates of a specific parking lot, you'll find that there's a waypoint stored in your unit for that location, and you can navigate to that just like you can anything else. Sometimes the owner thinks that the best approach to a cache isn't obvious, and for whatever reason, chooses to include that info. Quote Link to comment
