I'm posting this here so the community can help me decide if this is a legal, non-commercial and interesting bug.

 

My family and I just returned from vacation (yes we had a great time thank you) and my son asked to keep the keys from the 3 hotels we stayed at. Since most hotels have changed to the keycard system the keys are a neat collectors item and he has never been turned down by the front desk. In 3 years my son has collected quite a few of the keycards.

 

He proposed that we send out a bug with a large keyring or keychain, a small hole punch and a card explaining the purpose of this bug.

 

Each cacher that "Takes" the bug should add his or her own hotel key to the keyring.

 

I personally didn't find anything wrong with it. My only concern is that it's not seen to be commercial advertising.

Sound okay to me. In fact, a travel bug that I'd like to start is also a key to a hotel that I aquired a few years ago, before there were the key cards.
