+briansnat Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I keep enough to keep me alive for a night or two should I have to spend an unexpected overnight in the woods. I always have the 10 essentials and a small bivy shelter. Quote
+mpilchfamily Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 My pack is in its development stage. Heck i'm still looking for a better pack. Right now i've got a Nintendo sholder bag that was vender swag from about 6 or 7 years ago when i worked at Wal-Mart. Other then trading swag i carry what i consider to be the basics. Leather Gloves Compass first aid kit home made USB charging pack w/ extra 9V batteries (i use a car GPS with built in battery) Flashlight About 30 feet of Paracord (not to mention the nearly 60 feet of it wrapped around my walking staff) Multi tool plastic shopping bags for CITO Water bottle some energy bars small notepad and pens Soon to add a small servival pack Basicly anything a good boyscout would take with them on a long hike. Even if i'm just doing some C&Ds i'll have the pack in the back of the car. If i am going for a hike my walking staff will be with me. It too will soon have a compass on it and possibly some other survival items embeded into it. Quote
+TerraViators Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Don't use one. Too much trouble. I'm looking for a container, not camping. I'm not that worried about getting caught overnight, anyway. If I do, I'd deal with it. My wife says I have a cavalier attitude about life. Quote

First aid kit Signal mirror Whistle Flare Emergency blanket Water purification tablets Swiss army knife Pepper spray Compass Bear bells Matches Small candle Flint Bug spray TP Itch lotion Hand sanitizer Small wood soaked in fuel or something Rope Hikers handbook I think that's about it. +Castle Mischief Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) I keep a bazooka, a 9-person tent, a Jeep Rubicon, and a gallon of whale blubber cause you never know when you'll need it. I also cache in full plate and a flak jacket, just in case. EDIT: I have Bear Grylls on speed dial. Edited November 30, 2010 by Castle Mischief Quote
