Oregon 450T latest software?

Probably a dumb question, but what are the latest software issues that work on the 450T? Why does my "About" tell me two different software issues on the 450T? I think mine says 360 and 370?? I don't have it right here in front of me right now.

the latest is 4.20. the second number you see is the firmware of the GPS chip, which has 4.52 as the latest. the GPS firmware is getting installed together with the regular device firmware.

One is the Software version and the other the GPS Software version, the former is the Garmin software and what most people talk about when discussion the version of software on their GPS (the 62/78's only display this version). The GPS software is provided by the 3rd party GPS chipset maker in this case STM and changes less frequently but can have impact on the performance of the receiver.

 

Easiest thing to do is connect to your computer and run webupdater. It will tell you when it is time to upgrade. There is a version 4.20 out now which you may want to pick up.

I am now running 4.20 and 4.52. Thanks, I really like the changes I saw so far. Thanks again, I appreciate it. I went right to the Garmin web site and downloaded it from there.

I went to update my 450t yesterday and bricked it... ugh. I got the 'Vailidating Update 0% Complete" and no farther. Called tech support and the walked me through the "boot block" by holding down the power button while plugging in the cable. Ran the update 2 more times with no luck and sent the unit to Kansas for repair.

Although it worked for me, I thought the instructions were a little confusing during the process. In my humble opinion Garmin should write the instructions for each model, not as a group. The rebooting was totally different on different models in my instructions.
