Berks Dutchie
Folks, I've been playing with my new Garmin 62s, and am loving the paperless caching. I'd like to setup my GOTO geocaching screen to show the directional arrow, distance to cache, my current coords and the caches coords. Can the 62s do this? Thanks in advance! +ventura_kids
um....yes.....maybe On my arrow screen, I have the distance to final, the accuracy, and the battery power, and one more thing that I can't remember...perhaps the cache name or the time of day. Just don't ask me how I got them there....lol Quote Link to comment
ventura_kids
seeing the coordinates is useless. Quote Link to comment
g-o-cashers
I would go to the Map and do the following: MENU>Setup Map>Data Fields>Dashboard>Geocaching This will add a dashboard containing the cache name, pointer and distance to cache near the top of the page. Quote Link to comment
ventura_kids
I had that.... I ended up with a big pointer, and a little pointer, on the page. (no one wants a little pointer ) I think I right clicked on the compass page and changed the data fields........after I did what was posted up above. Quote Link to comment
dfx
I had that.... I ended up with a big pointer, and a little pointer, on the page. (no one wants a little pointer ) that's on the compass screen, not the map screen i don't like the geocaching dashboards because they don't work right when navigating to something other than a geocache. +bcblues
Ha! I did the same as VK: Turned on the Geocaching dashboard on the compass page. Big compass + little compass = useless! Quote Link to comment
donbadabon
I'd like to setup my GOTO geocaching screen to show the directional arrow, distance to cache, my current coords and the caches coords. On the Map screen, press Menu and then Change Data Fields. Quote Link to comment
dfx
i don't think "coords at destination/cache" is an option with the data fields though... Quote Link to comment
g-o-cashers
It isn't, data fields for trip computer/map/compass screen are documented here: http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/Trip+Computer#toc7 Quote Link to comment
ventura_kids
I think the most useful data fields on the GO TO screen (the one with the arrow) are: Distance to final Accuracy Time of day If you are at zero, and your accuracy is less than 10 feet, and you cannot find the geocache..........then you should check the time of day and see if it's time for lunch. Many times when I'm hungry, I can't seem to find the cache. Quote Link to comment
