MinnesotaBen Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 There should be another part to this mission and that is to see whose is the last to get grabbed EyeD1OT - You're on! After a weekend, we are down to just 5 coins (sort by Last Log) that haven't yet made it through the mail. Although now I have a sneaky suspicion my coin is here! Quote
MinnesotaBen Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Well we are down to just 4 coins (sort by Last Log) that haven't yet been claimed through the mail. EyeD10T, yours and mine are still two of the four! Quote

The Amigos Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Station announcement: "The trains now arriving in south Wales, UK, are Lily's and Terry's Travel Express train from Abilene, Texas. It's a long way through the Trans-Atlantic tunnel. Passengers for all south Wales stations change here. These train will be pausing to take on coal from the Welsh coalfields and will then continue their journeys onwards to all points in the UK." Terry's Travel Express Lily's Travel Express I don't know who Terry and Lily are but all's well and Good Luck in the race. MrsB Terry is the youngest son of The Amigos. He goes by Amigo Son#2, although he doesn't have an account of his own. He thought it was awesome when I told him where his coin was starting!! It definitely IS a LOOONG ways from Abilene, Texas!! lol Quote
drneal Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Hoping to make an event in just a couple of weeks, so I can get the coin I have really moving...again, stupid winter! ILYK Quote
mamoreb Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 My coin (http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=3032543) seems to have bounced right into the lead when it comes to distance travelled. However, I'm not sure that all those miles should count. The coin appears to have travelled from USA to Germany and back. However, the cache in Germany (http://coord.info/GC1MDG0) seems to be a creative one. I don't understand the cache page very well, but reading the logs, it seems that not everyone who logs it actually visits the spot. Some sort of teamwork across continents? Any advice, please? Quote

GaryM53 Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 I am in the process to see who did not receive the last four Geocoins. If you were expecting to receive them and did not please post here so I can cross check my results. After I have confermined they are missing in action I will make arangements to get the last four in the race. They may be in the cabose of a non moving train. Quote
GaryM53 Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 I was able to figure out who did not receive coins to place and contacted them. It looks like we have only 2 missing now. I think we might want to do something speacial for these two. Any ideas out there? To be continued................ Quote
mamoreb Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Yes, that would be nice. So, two coin owners have not had their coin placed, and two others have not been able to place someone else's coin. Is that right? Where are these people - USA, Europe or elsewhere? Is there any way for them to enter the race at this point, or is that too late? Quote
mamoreb Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 BTW, it seems there hasn't been a solution for the excel spreadsheet. Did you try using dropbox? I could probably help out, if you want. Quote

GaryM53 Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 Mamoreb has made a great offer to help and I was pleased to see the resopnse. I returned the offer with the solution of what will happen next. Mamoreb, I appreciate the offer and response. I was able to locate 2 of the 4 missing coins yesterday and they have been grabbed and placed this weekend. I have since purchased 5 more Travel Express Coins and will start the 2 final ones from here in Texas. I have also had a Travel Express Doubloons coin made (only 20 exist). I plan to give the last 2 entrants each one for entering the race late. I think Minnisota Ben and EyeD10T have been sitting in the caboose of a Train without an engine! It will be a little longer before they get started but I'll try and get them on an express train. Thanks GaryM53 PS:Minnisota Ben and EyeD10T- It will be a little while before I receive the coins and can send them to you. I'll keep you posted. These (2) coins will be the first of many prizes as the trains rush around the world! Quote
EyeD10T Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 GaryM53 - thank you so much. That is very nice of you. I appreciate all of the work you have been putting into organizing and maintaining the race. Quote
MinnesotaBen Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I second what EyeD10T said. GaryM53, thank you as well! I was very excited to help out with this race and following the coins. But this is a very nice gesture and will be quite appreciated. As a relative newbie to geocaching and just receiving my first geocoin for Christmas, this gesture means quite a bit. Thanks again! +Fiery Searcher Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I'm very happy for the two racers that I received to get started in the race! I know I got them off to a relatively slow start, and no doubt a few thoughts of annoyance were sent my way. However, now they are both in the top ten and I hope this momentum will continue for them. Watch out for rockotter's and drneal's racers! As for my racer...well...I think it's doing a great job of holding down the cache it's in. Quote
seekerfamily Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Checked ours today, someone logged yesterday that they did not see any trackables in the cache - 2 missing. Quote
