DashleyRVA Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Do they still sell lock'n' lock's anywhere? I've heard walmart...didn't find any I've also heard the dollar store... Where do you buy yours? Quote
slukster Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) They never seem to run out of them at JCPenney. JCPenney When they have super sales you can usually get the $24.99 sets for $19.99 or less. Edited November 13, 2010 by slukster Quote
Student Camper Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I just purchased mine @ Amazon.com, I couldn't find any locally, I was told that WM may not carry them any longer. Quote
briansnat Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Walmart and the local grocery stores now sell the Rubbermaid and Sterlite versions which aren't nearly as good. Online is my only source now. Quote
DashleyRVA Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 Just got back from Target and Dollar Tree....Dollar Tree had a REALLY cheap version...Target had a few options and I ended up picking up a Sterilite Ultra Seal model...hopefeully it holds up....seems pretty good... Quote
Sol seaker Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) The target near me has a huge selection of brand-name Lock and Locks. There is a target online, so you might be able to get them there. They also have a nice selection at the Asian Grocery store near me: H Mart. Theirs are particularly inexpensive, although Target is cheaper than anyone besides H Mart. PS. A lot of the cheaper brands just do not hold up, especially through the winter. Better to pay for it once, then replace it many times. Edited November 13, 2010 by Sol seaker Quote
Harry Dolphin Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Lock and Lock is a brand name. The cheap stuff from the Dollar Store is not Lock and Lock. RubberMaid (which, as Brian says, is inferior) has driven Lock and Lock out of all my local stores: KMart, Walmart, Target and the supermarkets. I haven't tried JCPenneys. I've been using some other brands from TJMaxx. Some are holding up, others not. Quote

Charlie Fingers Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Funny enough, I get mine from Big Lots. Quote
hikingirl3 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 They have a bunch at Bed Bath and Beyond. I don't think they're the actual lock n lock brand though. You can use those 20% off flier coupons on them though! Quote
Flintstone5611 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Up here in Canada, we got Lock'n'Locks coming out of our eyeballs. Walmart has an entire section of them, but they still sell out sometimes, which just means coming back in a few days.IMHO they are the best all season cache container for the price. Plus, no one very few people look at a tupperware (sans camo) and thinks it's a bomb. Quote
Ike 13 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I currently use the Rubbermaid knock offs. I wish Lock n locks were still in most main stores because they were better, and American made. They are apparently huge in China, and can be bought online but any savings are off set by shipping. My containers are holding up quite well, but we don't deal with much snow here, and that may be a factor. Quote

We've got a cacher around here who uses cheap Lock n Lock type containers purchased at the local dollar store. In less than a year many have developed broken latches and don't seal properly. Quote
dakboy Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 The shelf at Wegmans was stuffed with them today. Quote
Mr.Yuck Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 The shelf at Wegmans was stuffed with them today. That'll be fine if they live in isolated pockets of the Mid-Atlantic region. I've seen lock-n-lock's all over said region. What I haven't been able to find are some of the quality name brand knock-off's like Sterlite and Farberware. Haven't seen Farberware in like a year, acutally. And believe me, I've been looking for them. Quote
humboldt flier Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 organize.com carries them as well Quote
dakboy Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 The shelf at Wegmans was stuffed with them today. That'll be fine if they live in isolated pockets of the Mid-Atlantic region. The OP is in Richmond, VA - there's a Wegmans 1 hour north in Fredericksburg. Quote
:DK Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 i actually seen ALOT at big lots the other day. Quote
madmomma72 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Caching Containers Not sure how the prices compare to other places, but they carry black and green ones in a small variety of sizes and round or rectangular. Quote
secretagentbill Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I found that Amazon had a good collection. A few months ago, I ended up purchasing a variety pack for 24.99. Yeah, and you get free shipping at $25. They couldn't charge me the extra penny? LOL. So I found something else to buy. (They know what they're doing) Quote
2Wheel'in Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I don't know if Harris Teeter is local only (Virginia), but they sell them....singles (all sizes) and in sets. I bought 4 different sizes there today to replenish my stock on-hand. Bill Quote
Wooden Cyclist Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I buy mine at Meijer Stores, but they are only located in 5 states. Quote
Taoiseach Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Up here in Canada, we got Lock'n'Locks coming out of our eyeballs. My favourite place for Lock & Locks is actually Home Hardware. They don't have the best price by any means (they're not bad, but...), but they have an amazingly extensive selection of sizes. Quote
d+n.s Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I would buy them online, but I am completely stupid and have a hard time imagining what size lock n' lock = what size cache. I would like one ammo can sized Quote
popokiiti Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Walmart Canada still carries lots! If there aren't any in your store, maybe Walmart online? Also, some of the goecaching distributors carry them - camouflaged and "nekkid" - http://www.Landsharkz.ca is an example. If Starfrit is the maker...maybe contact them dirctly also. Good luck!! Quote
MoonCatKDT & Peanut Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I've seen them at Zellers and Sears as well. I just did my bridal registry at Sears, and I know i saw them there. Quote
BikeBill Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 After I saw Wegman's noted above, I stopped by one to check their selection. They had mostly medium and small L&L's, with one nested assortment of round ones for pretty cheap. What I found interesting is something apparently new - a Lock 'n Lock 'Premium'. They were so clear I initially thought they were glass. Fairly expensive. They'd make the bomb squads happy, though! Quote
E = Mc2 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 They're best quality, so of course, KRFS stopped carrying them. IIRC, I saw some at that fancy french store. You know, Tarzhay? Fortunately, we also have Meijer in my area. Loc-n-Loc is much better than Sterlite and whatever that off brand is that KRFS sells. KRFS = Killer Rabbit Food Store., aka Wal-Mart. It's a long story. +CacheOCD Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 The GIANT store near me in York, PA has them for all you central PA guys. Quote
SwineFlew Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) My local Bi-Mart (a local chain) got airtight Snapware container. Not sure if they are good like Lock N Lock. Edited November 16, 2010 by SwineFlew Quote
ReedKyCacheFinders Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Our Walmart's have them in our area. Quote
4wheelin_fool Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I bought 16 at JCPenney recently for $20 (on sale) They are all diffferent sizes, large to small. Being less than $1.50 each, including tax, that's pretty good. Quote
FunnyNose Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 They also have a nice selection at the Asian Grocery store near me: H Mart. Theirs are particularly inexpensive, although Target is cheaper than anyone besides H Mart. I just stopped at the H Mart in Tigard. They have a whole half side of an aisle of the Lock&Lock brand. Which I consider superior. 350ML size for $1.79 Quote
Bluespreacher Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I bought 16 at JCPenney recently for $20 (on sale) They are all diffferent sizes, large to small. +popokiiti Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Walmart Canada and Sears Canada carry them - but I don't know how much shipping would be. I also did a Google search and came across the following place... http://www.locknlockplace.com/?gclid=CJGNl...CFQUSbAodcEd_1A You could also try Starfrit who make the wonderful items, or the various geocaching suppliers who carry some of them also. Good luck in your search! Quote

badger10 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 We get ours at Costco. They usually have them and they come in a large pack with a variety of sizes. Of course if you are looking for only a couple of sizes than Costco isn't for you. Quote
kwcahart Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 JC Penny just had a sell on them, maybe still on?? They are about the only place you can find them except on-line. Quote
