Packanack
I have removed the link at the request of the cacher. Edited November 5, 2010 by Packanack Quote Link to comment
Fusilli Jerry
I could understand bringing the cash. You never know when a poker game is going to break out. But the jewelry? Respect to the good samaritan. he can sleep good at night knowing he did the right thing. Quote Link to comment
The BeeGees
N.J. man returns backpack containing $23K in jewelry, cash to owner OAKLAND — A Ringwood man found and returned a Maine woman's backpack that contained $23,000 in cash and family heirlooms. XXX was helping her parents move in New Jersey and was playing a treasure hunt game that relies on GPS technology when she left the pack behind at Ramapo State Forest on Halloween. Removed names from story at the request of the cacher. Edited November 5, 2010 by The BeeGees Quote Link to comment
Qbar
wow...if I'd been packing that, I'd have been to scared to stop anywhere..I'd have been to scared to go anywhere period, so I guess I wouldn't have been packing that! Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
Good for him. Edited to add: Although it's probably going to confuse some people that playing this treasure hunt game requires some serious scratch to participate. Edited November 5, 2010 by BlueDeuce Quote Link to comment
MissJenn
I merged two related threads. macatac1961 started one and this existing one by The BeeGees had a better title. Quote Link to comment
mblatch
After the initial amazement and disbelief of reading this story, something seemed oddly familiar about the name. Hmmm....could this possibly be the friend from Maine that my caching friend Greg is always talking about??? A quick email, and my suspicions were confirmed. Someone here in Jersey actually knows her personally!! haha I must admit that I have to agree with accbd. I am clearly hiking with the wrong people when I go caching. Quote Link to comment
dfx
i guess somebody misunderstood how geocashing is supposed to work. Quote Link to comment
hallycat
It was nice of you guys to remove the names but a 3 second search brought me the story on the web. ^5 to the honest cacher. And the woman? uhhhh, I don't think you would be needing that stuff in the woods Quote Link to comment
macatac1961
Strange, I didn't start that topic, I just replied to Packs thread. Quote Link to comment
MuckSavage
There was a bit of a quick discussion about this on NJ 101.5 this afternoon. Quote Link to comment
MissJenn
Strange, I didn't start that topic, I just replied to Packs thread. Hm. Strange indeed. Maybe it was operator error on my part? Quote Link to comment
