Converging Bugs Challenge?

I had an interesting idea yesterday driving home with my first travel bug. I would make, find, or buy something with four parts (perhaps related to the Geocaching logo which conveniently has 4 sections) and make each part a separate travel bug. Then I would mail the parts to the four corners of the country (So. Cal, Seattle area, So. Florida, Maine) for release by volunteers on the same day. The only goal would be to get all the parts back together in one cache. (Not any particular cache) Whoever brings the final section to the cache gets to keep the item.

This would be a great experiment in spontaneous organization. It would also give people a specific goal and help cachers keep in touch during the winter season since they would need some coordination in getting the pieces together.

Any thoughts on this? rdw

6" TARGET=_blank>Aquaman I had to go to the local comic book shop (who knew that he got that buff, grew his hair out like Fabio and got a hook?!?).

All things considered I think I had just as much fun sending out the Travel Bugs and setting up the Superfriends Travel Bug Hub as I did placing their final destination, The Hall of Justice.

I got the idea because arffer had mentioned that when his hitchhiker Puff got to the east coast on his race around the world with Stinky the Skunk, they both became deadlocked, as not too many cachers happen across travelers and then go overseas. So I figured why not start them in the four corners and have them travel to a central location in the US (about 15½ miles from my house no less).

BTW, I'd like to publically thank Eraseek, Buxley, Kahli1 and Infosponge for being my four-corner contacts! Geocachers are the BEST!

How about a bunch of bugs, each released over great distances, each containing a piece of a map. Once all the pieces are put together, the map will show the location of a SUPERCACHE!

Uh oh.. I think I got a new idea! icon_smile.gif

Aww crap! Someone beat me to it. I don't want to do something that has already been done. I have a few other ideas to work on. Maybe I'll do it anyways. I would like to see where they get together. rdw

Hopefully, they'll make it to their proposed destination - The Hall of Justice, ( icon_wink.gif) but if they make it there too soon, they may have to go out hunting members of the Legion of Doom (the cat in my bag was meowing a little loudly).
