I've seen used versions (DVD) of Garmin City Navigator for sale on Ebay, etc. Some of the newer versions require unlock codes. If the original owner used the DVD, then sells it, can the new owner unlock the maps with the original unlock code? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
roybassist Posted October 22, 2010 Share Posted October 22, 2010 No, unless he also sells you the GPS it was previously unlocked for. The unlock code itself doesn't come with the DVD. You have to go through an unlock process which generates a code for a specific GPS unit. The unlock code will work only with the unit for which it was originally generated. What comes with the DVD is an ID number that let's you go through the process. Once used, it can't be used again. Quote Link to comment
