+Turtletoes/Biggie
My friend who is new to geocaching. Purchased a triton 500. We tried for a hour today to load gps. We downloaded mapsend lite. Couldn't get it to load. I have always used Garmin products. So I wasn't any help. GSAK won't support the triton series. any input would be great. Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
+traingreg
I use VantagePoint (Magellan software). It allows you to download PQs directly from geocaching.com. If you like you can massage data in GSAK and then bring it into VantagePoint and put it on the gadget Quote Link to comment
+JohnnyVegas
I have a triton 500 bought it to replce my older explorist, I have been using magellan hand helds for several years. Make sure your freind is using the updated formware from magellan, when the first tritons were sent to dealers they just did not work. I was using GPX filess that I would save to my desk top. THen I would drag them to the vantage point software. Edit to add that I have never added geocache to any GPS from the geocaching web site. I would just rateh load them after filtering my cache file with (GSAK geocaching swiss army knife) But I am back to using my older Explorist 500, once I got my trition working it died after about 6 months. The tritons are the one of the worst hand held GPS that have been made. It will be interesting to see what the new magellan explorist 710, 610, and 510 are like will be like when they start making to real users.
