+Team Bosheks
I have just bought me an explorist 600 for a nice price but I like to do a firmware upgrade. Now it's running with v5.2.203 and I like to perform an update. The problem is.....where can I find the new firmware? There are a lot of dead links and...NO results The same for Windows 7 drivers! Who can help me?? Grtz Edited October 14, 2010 by Team Bosheks Quote Link to comment
+cwhlam
The firmware can be found in the file section of the Yahoo's Explorist group: <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eXplorist/files/Firmwares/>. Depending on the serial number of your Explorist 600, you update to either the 2.57 version, or the 2.71 version. Make sure you use the correct version, because loading the wrong version may brick your unit. I do not have a windows 7 machine and cannot help you on that. +jimbolaya64
OK, thanks! Now I've got to find the driver, before I can perform the upgrade I have the Explorist 400 and have found firmware and drivers at the Magellan website. I registered my unit and the site shows me all available downloads. You shouldn't need drivers for file transfer, like firware upgrades, because the Explorist mounts as a removable drive. I upgraded mine with Windows 7 with no special drivers. The drivers that Magellan provides I believe are for NMEA stuff which I'm not that familiar with. And, I can't get them to work on my 64 bit system. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
