+Team StitchesOnQuilts
Go to the cache where you want to place the bug. Put the bug in the cache. Go to the cache page. Click "Log Your Visit." Choose "found it". Enter your comments. Go to the bottom of the page. Choose the travel bug from the pulldown menu. Click "Click to log your visit" at the bottom of the page. If you fail to choose the travel bug from the pulldown menu, the bug will not be logged into that cache, and will still show as being in your hands. Shannah P.S. If you have made this mistake, and the bug is in the cache, but shows as being in your hands, go back to the cache page, use these instructions, but log a "note" rather than a "found it" and choose the bug this time. +Egnix
Actually, you don't even need to leave a note. If you forget to log a bug placement and you've already logged your cache visit - just go back and click "edit" on your cache log and you can select the bug you placed. Quote Link to comment

+RocketMan
Here is a good "How To" page on the subject Groundspeak Travel Bugs: How To. This does a good job of explaining how to use the T-Bug. I don't know why there is not a link to this page on the main T-Bug page or the "About Geocaching" page, but it would sure be nice for those that are new to the T-Bug.
