+g-o-cashers
To remove found caches the easiest thing to do is reload a gpx file that does not contain your found caches or remove the gpx file that contains the found cache. There is not a way to remove caches from the unit itself, any cache contained in a gpx file in \Garmin\GPX will show up on the unit. Quote Link to comment
+ecanderson
Is there a way to take off the list that show ( found caches ) Not from the face of the unit itself, no. The only way to "clear" those is to load a different *.gpx file. When you copy a new *.gpx file to your Garmin (it recognizes a new time/date stamp, even if the name of the *.gpx file is identical), it is taking the new *.gpx file and loading the information it needs into space in internal memory that you can't see. That is your unit's "working" copy of the information. When you mark a cache as found, it is one of those entries in the internal memory space that is being flagged with a "found" status. The *.gpx file that you loaded is NOT being changed. The only file that you can see with your PC that is being changed is the geocache_visits.txt file, and that's just a log file -- it does not have anything to do with the Oregon's internal record keeping for found/not-found status. Loading yet another new *.gpx file causes your Garmin to toss out whatever it knew before, and reload the new *.gpx data into its internal memory. Your "found" caches cease to show up in any way at that time -- assuming you don't bring found caches across in your PQ. Quote Link to comment
