+TeamDartmanX Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Being incredibly busy, I tend to forget about things like the 10/10/10 event. However, I had been trying to get to a new one near home for about 2 weeks and just happened to make it on 10/10/10. I totally forgot about the event until the next day. Of course, the next day, wife/kids/I logged 19. Quote
+NYPaddleCacher Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 However, I see the vote on the Lat 47 site is already 10 - 1 in favour of 11/11/11.........perhaps this date doesn't have the significance in the US that it does in Europe. Okay, I'll bite. What's the significance of 11/11/11/ in Europe? Noticed from your sig: UK Record Holders - FTF caches on 5 Continents. Does this mean you were the first team from the UK to find caches on 5 continentents or you were first to find on at least one cache on 5 continents? If all goes as planned, I'll have found caches on 5 different continents by next Spring. In a little over two weeks I hope to find a cache on a fourth continent this year and my visit to a fifth will occur either in February or April. If it's in February, I'll have found caches on 5 continents in less than 12 months. Quote

I've no idea if we were the first ever caching team to do it. I would say almost certainly not. Quote

+rawkhopper Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 My 10-10-10 was a mixed bag o' good n bad. My wife got sick and was throwing up, she was feeling so bad and wanted to lie down. I was tired and wasn't planning on going geocaching but using the day to rest. In a desperate attempt to help my wife I took the kids out so they would not bother her so that she may be able to sleep between sessions with head in bucket. So I asked the kids if they wanted to go geocaching and they both yelled yea! So off we went. I grabbed a puzzle cache that I had previously solved that was a short little hike in the woods. Went back to stage one of another we had done before but I forgot the coordinates of stage 2. Decided that stage 2 was too far of a hike for the littlest who is 4. Decided to go for an historical park and grab let the littlest point the way. Once we found it we sat on the grass overlooking the nearby road and read the history of the area. They wanted to do another cache but the littlest needed to go potty so we went back home. Then we sat down and read a highlights magazine together. So if my wife had not been sick it would have been a very peaceful relaxing day with the kids. Would have been more fun if she were with us or at least up and able. Now I sit at home sick myself. It looks like it caught up with me. Hope the kids don't get it. Quote
+pamlicojack Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I made sure to find enough to log number 1010 that day... Quote
+TerraViators Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 We had a great time at the DFW area event. It was a hit, door prizes, pathtags and comemorative goecoins for the event. Quote
sabrefan7 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 No caching, or events for me. I played golf instead Quote
