+The VanDucks
As we celebrated 10-10-10 this morning, by clinking our special Geocaching.com logo coffee mugs together in a toast to Geocaching, at exactly 10 am EST, we realized we were just lacking a song to sing to recognize this important anniversary! Give us your song suggestions for the "official" geocaching song! Something along the lines of "The Caissons Go Rolling Along", rewritten as "The Cachers go Rolling Along?" I'm sure your creative minds can come up with even better ideas! Quote Link to comment
+humboldt flier
No song here. However, I went out and did ten caches for the 10/10/10 initiative. Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
If you search the archives, you can find a bunch of suggestions. Featured prominently are songs like U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and Rob Pierce's "Don't Tell My Wife (I'm Out Geocaching)". The latter is available on amazonmp3.com. +Snoogans
Dave Grohl is a geocacher and I have it on good authority that the song All My Life is really about geocaching the ET power trail. He can be seen celebrating an FTF in this pic: Here are the lyrics to his geocaching song: All My Life by The Foo Fighters All my life I’ve been searching for something Something never comes, never leads to nothing Nothing satisfies, but I’m getting close Closer to the prize at the end of the rope All night long I dream of the day When it comes around and it’s taken away Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most Feel it come to life when I see your ghost Calm down, don’t you resist You’ve such a delicate wrist And if I give it a twist Something to hold when I lose my grip Will I find something in there? To give me just what I need Another reason to bleed One by one hidden up my sleeve One by one hidden up my sleeve (chorus) Hey don’t let it go to waste I love it but I hate the taste Weight, keep pinning me down Will I find a believer? Another one who believes Another one to deceive Over and over down on my knees If I get any closer And if you open up wide And if you let me inside On and on I got nothing to hide (chorus)x2 All my life I’ve been searching for something Something never comes, never leads to nothing Nothing satisfies, but I’m getting close Closer to the prize at the end of the rope All night long I dream of the day When it comes around and it’s taken away Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most Feel it come to life when I see your ghost Then I’m done done, on to the next one Done done, and I’m on to the next one x6 Done I’m done and I’m on to the next Done done on to the next one Done I’m done and I’m on to the next one Done done on to the next one Done I’m done and I’m on to the next (chorus)x2 Done done on to the next one Done I’m done and I’m on to the next Quote Link to comment
+DonB
Use the tune for what I think was a WWII marching song, "Over Hill Over Dale" and maybe substitute a few words. Oops I didn't read all of The VanDucks post. I guess we are talking about the same song, I just wasn't sure of the title. Edited October 23, 2010 by DonB Quote Link to comment
