First Time Find reward

What is a suitable reward to put in a cache for the first person who finds the cache? I have heard of FTF certificates, but are these actual paper documents, or virtual?

I've never seen one, however I know that some people print them out and put them in the cache. Since GC.com doesn't officially recognize FTF as anything, you won't find anything official on the site. The general consensus here is that the blank log is the prize that the FTF hunters are after. Anything after that is just extra, and as a matter of fact, many FTFers leave the prize for the next person to grab. Put in whatever you please, it'll be good enough

I believe you can buy them from places such as eBay or I've heard of people designing their own. If you have plenty to spend then you can buy FTF coins. A good way to look at it is: what would you like to find in a cache as a reward if you were first to find?

around here you can often find $1 or $2 as FTF prize, either as cash or in form of some kind of gift certificate (starbucks etc).

In 2 of my caches i left a buck (one was the FTF prize from another cache i got).

 

The others i didn't leave any FTF prize because i didn't have any cash around. i think an empty log and bragging rights are enough. The $1 was more of a token.

 

A pre-paid VISA card would be great if you're hiding near me.

Don't be concerned about a First to Find prize. Unless your area is much different to mine, there will be no expectation that the cache will contain a prize. Being first to sign the log is a big reward in itself to many people. A good container and an interesting hide location wold be a good reward for everyone else.
