What is the virtual one please? where do I look for the virtual one ? is it on this forum?

This is the cache in York (UK) that kwhart refers to: "The Stonegate Devil"

A Virtual cache is one where there is no container and to claim a find you have to either email some details about the location to the owner and/or take a photo to prove you were there. Virtual caches are no longer allowed to be submitted as new cache listings on this site but the old Virtuals are "grandfathered in".)

You're posting in the right forum - This is "Getting Started" - for geocachers all over the world who are just discovering the game.

There are also regional forums for countries and US regions. This will take you to the forum specifically for geocaching within UK and Ireland: Groundspeak forum for United Kingdom & Ireland

You may also like to look at the site for the Geocaching Association of Great Britain which also has a forum.

There are also two Scottish geocaching forums:

GeoX forum

Geofrees - Geocaching Scotland

:D oooooh thank you for the info. Yes we did find the Stonegate Devil in York but that was a few years ago, and the very first time I had ever been one a geocach.

We left the men to go to the pub last week (well...... there were not in there ALL week :D ) and my friend who geocaches and I went along and found 2 more, I even spotted the clue when she read it out but she was thinking of something else so I was pleased I was of some help ;) I could have carried on but we were both thirsty by this time

many thanks

:D

Since being with friends in York last week who are geocachers and finding two there, and we "helped" them a few years ago in York, I am looking forward to doing it myself.

I can't wait. I note a lot in my area so, let the fun begin,

;)

You mean Let the Obsession begin.
