i hid my first earthcache today and i was wondering how long it takes on average for them to get reviewed is it the same as any outer cache

They go fairly quickly. Expect a few comments forom the reviewers to help you get it in line with the Groundspeak and Earthcache requirements.

 

But normally within a week.

i would also like to know is it the same reviewer as any other cache or is it someone different?

I only have 2 earthcaches so far. The first was published within 20 minutes and the second within 12 hours. I assume that is not typical, I just probably submitted them at a convenient time and did not have any issues that needed to be worked out. They will not be reviewed by your local reviewer, but will be reviewed by Geoaware or a member of his team. For me being in Canada they were reviewed by GeoawareCA.

I have placed (3) Earthcaches. The first was reviewed and published with in 6 or so hours of submitting it. The second took about a day with the third one taking the longest at three days. The first one was published by GeoawareUSA1 with the other two being published by GeoawareUSA2. I would assume these people work with or for Geoaware who is in charge of reviewing and setting up the Earthcache guidelines.

 

Be patient, your time will come, I hated waiting too.
