TheBuchis
We are new to TB and found a TB that has not been activated yet. But we can't acitvate it, since we don't have the activation code. What do we do with the TB? Thanks for your help! Quote Link to comment
+bitbrain
That's an odd thing to find. You could read the logs for the cache where you found the tag & try to determine who left the tag. After that, you could e-mail that person & ask if they actually meant to leave an unactivated tag without the activation code. Quote Link to comment
TheBuchis
and if we don't find the activation code in the log? Isn't there a central "organization" that could tell me the code? Quote Link to comment
+joinsmith97
I too found a travel bug today that hadn't been activated. What to do? It's only the travel bug tag no copy. I'll check the cache again tomorrow but I don't think there was any mention of it. Quote Link to comment
InkyCat
Same thing happened to me although the bug tag was attached to something. After a few days of checking back at Groundspeak.com, the owner finally activated it. I think you can e-mail Groundspeak.com and explain the situation and they will try to contact the owner, if a lot of time has gone by and it still isn't activated. Eventually they might give you the activation code, I know someone that had that experience. InkyCat (the "Island Girl") Quote Link to comment
Georoams
Had the same thing happen in our second cache. the owners had not acticated it yet, and they were on vacation when they dropped it off, but they did eventually activate it...I got NO answers from Groundspeak or any Geocache contacts, but I am sure they are inundated with questions like ours...( Thus the forrum!) To make it less confusing, don't drop it off until it's activated, unless you just want to hand it off to someone else.... Quote Link to comment
