I may look into seeing how many people would be interested in Colorado coins. I've been itching to design a geocoin and find someone to mint it. Quote Link to comment
C-Troop
Found it in a cache near near the Texas/Oklahoma line, cant seem to find any info on it, would like to turn it into a TB though. C-Troop Quote Link to comment
+Strix
That is one nifty coin! What a great idea for a collectible. I'm getting some personalized poker chips made, but now I think the coins are way cooler. Strix "When the chips are down, the buffalo are empty." Quote Link to comment

I don't know for sure, but I may have exchanged emails with this person at some point. The reverse of that coin is my adaptation of the Geocaching.com logo, and I have always offered to let people use the same reverse if they want to have coins made so that they can save on the die fee from my minter. +MrGigabyte
We now have over 1500 Canadian GeoCoins in circulation, of which over 1100 were originally delivered to cachers in the US. Our coins, unlike geocachetreasure.com's, can be tracked if the coin owner chooses to do so. Quote Link to comment

+Team Golden
What type of cost is there for getting your own coins? I hear mention of dies and I hear the cash register in my head. I would also guess there is a minimum to order. One of the pages I was looking at was $4 a coin for theirs. If you design make your own $? Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
quote:Originally posted by Team Golden: What type of cost is there for getting your own coins? It depends a bit on what kind of coin you design. Most places charge a one-time die fee for each face of the coin; a fee for the coins that is based on size, material and number ordered; fees for any extras like color and number stamping; and finally shipping. My coins are about $4-5 each when ordering 100 at a time, but without color and numbering would be closer to $2.50 each. That cost would drop if I ordered in larger quantities (100 is the minumum order with my minter). My die fees were $70 per face. Moun10Bike's Geocaching Pages Quote Link to comment
+Nurse Dave
Maybe if you don't mind Moun10Bike you could tell us the company you use and others could use the geocaching logo they already have set-up and we could design our own front logo. The price you quote seems less than what I've seen just searching around, especially if you do it without colour. ---I will stand out, I am a raven in the snow. Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
The company that I use for my coins is D & R Military Specialties. They have a web site at http://www.militaryspecialties.com, but unfortunately don't give their price breakdown there. The person I have dealt with is Rick (the "R" of D & R), and he is very good with answering any questions you may have. He already knows that I have given the okay for any geocachers to use my reverse face die, so just tell him that you are a geocacher and have spoken to me about using it. By the way, does anyone know what is necessary for the "Delete Message..." option to work? While correcting a typo in this post, I accidentally double posted. I am unable to delete either version. I keep getting a message saying I can't delete a messge that has replies, yet as of the moment I am writing this, there are no replies. +Squirrel Nut & Beersnob
It's not a geocoin, but this might be of interest: I was looking around for items that I could possibly use as a signature item, and found this website for squashed pennies: http://www.geocities.com/eureka/suite/9098/ I inquired about the costs, and it's $140 to create a die and 300 coins (min. order, I guess). He'll do 1,000 on the first 'printing' for $200. He keeps the die, and if you need more later can make them at 100/$10 plus postage. I walk the Maze of Moments, but everywhere I turn to, begins a new beginning, but never finds a finish.. [This message was edited by Becki on August 14, 2002 at 04:42 AM.] Quote Link to comment
