+simplyred
I just re-opened my custom (60CSX) waypoints in Paint, re-save them as 24 bitmap, then just dragged and dropped them in the custom waypoint folder on the GPS. Worked for me. Quote Link to comment
+jsargent
Saving them as 24 bit worked for me as well. I'm trying to figure if there is a way to change the default found icon to a smiley face. I've explored everywhere and have been unable to find an option. Quote Link to comment

I must be missing something here. First there isn't a custom waypoint folder to replace a waypoint. I did however add the new icon to the CustomSymbols folder and named it Geocache Found.bmp but it's not working. Can some one clarify what the proper procedure is on replacing default icons with custom ones? Edited September 10, 2010 by The Ravens Quote Link to comment
+coggins
Should be the same procedure as the Oregon: http://www.gpsfix.net/custom-symbols/ Garmin's instructions: LINK geocache and waypoint symbol names. Edited September 10, 2010 by coggins Quote Link to comment
+The Ravens
I did all that as far as where to place new icons. My mistake was thinking resizing from 16x16 pixel to 24x24 was making them 24 bit which wasn't. I figured it out and now I have it working. Chalk this one up to user error. Thanks for the help. Thanks for the links. I don't have an Oregon, but it looks more and more like the 62 is Oregon guts in a 60 body. I guess I better try the Oregon wikis first...thanks again! Quote Link to comment

I noticed that too, that "custom" was nowhere to be found until AFTER I got all the parameters right... Quote Link to comment
