Darkiboo
I think the Geomate is much too kiddy for a teenager like myself. The explorist would only cost about $20 more since it's on sale right now where I could buy it. Regardless, they both look pretty good for a beginner like myself. Just looking at the specs or maybe you own one, which one to you think I should go for? I'm going to buy it Monday (today due to time) so quick answers/comments would be nice. Thanks. DannyCaffeine
Don't get the geomate. It is only does pre loaded caches so you can't upload any new until the updates come out. Its a pain in the butt. Quote Link to comment
+borrie869
maybe if you suggested your budget we could offer other suggestions for your price range that may better fit your needs and wants Quote Link to comment
+randco
If you want a Garmin product get the eTrex Legend H. You can find them used at Amazon starting at around $75. Quote Link to comment
+hukilaulau
The geomate jr. is easier to use if you've never used a gps before. you would need to buy the update kit as well as the handheld, but it works great. I have one that I take on trips and mostly use for unplanned rest area stops. The eXplorist 500 has been my main gps for over 4 years now, and I love it. it works best, though, if you have the DirectRoute mapping, which you have to buy. But then you can use it for street routing too. Quote Link to comment
