+The Two Bears
Been having a few issues with my Oregon, have downloaded the latest update but it has wiped off the MOB function (not really going to need this one me thinks - don't like boats at the best of times !!) the Waypoint Averager and the Sight & Go thingamibob. Not played with the Sight & Go but the averager was proving useful. Have I done something wrong ??- am a bit rubbish with all these technical things so its a distinct possibility that its user malfunction rather than unit malfunction !! Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
You can 'backdate' from the Garmin website. You can also try to re-install the 'update' or the previous version. There is a new beta, if you feel brave. The new beta's have a few added extras, like being able to filter by type, size, and D/T. (But probably best to get it going again, first. Oregon software version 3.85 Beta http://www8.garmin.com/support/downl...ls.jsp?id=4741 Changes made from version 3.81 to 3.85: * Added multicaching support. * Added Automatic Shaded Relief option. * Added ability to set user declination direction. * Improved accuracy of trip odometer. * Fixed occasional shutdowns. * Fixed issue with Oblique Mercator User grid. * Problems with the software may be reported to OregonBeta@garmin.com. +Graculus
When you say it's wiped things off the menu it may just have 'hidden' them. This is an option in the setup menu. Setup - Main Menu and you can move and hide (use the delete dustbin - it doesn't actually delete them) option. Check that this isn't what has happened. +drdick&vick
Updated mine and it hid three of my functions, if you go Setup and Main Menu you will be able to find them and move them back into use. As I am new to the Oregan, I keep seeing bits about Field Notes and logging them online, how do you write these notes and how do you log them online. After "Log attempt" >Found >Add comment -add comments. There is a 50 character limit, so don't get too poetic! I usually keep it to two or three words as a reminder, and tb in/out. If you do a few tb's, I stick the tracking number in the field note -Remember to edit out when you log! Edited September 2, 2010 by Bear and Ragged Quote Link to comment

Told you it would be user rather than unit malfunction !! I think the problem was probably the loose nut that keeps the GPS from falling on the ground Quote Link to comment
