Which app can play audio depending on gps position?

I would love to tell interactive stories in MP3 audio files that are selected and played according to where the listeners are positioned. Do any of you know any standard software to use on iphone and android to make this possible? Preferably with the option of downloading selected audio files before going on a audio trip.

I'm going to venture a guess: None.

 

The closest thing I can think of is GPS Reminder...

...which lets you set location-based reminders and have the phone alert when you're near one of the spots -- e.g., give an alert when you're passing the grocery store so you remember to buy milk.

If you were doing this for a geocache, you could hide several cheap and cheerful mp3 players (ebay has plenty!) in small cache containers. Make it a requirement to either bring headphones and and AAA battery, or stand the ongoing maintenance issues yourself to make that work. Not quite as dynamic, but would mean that it was open to those many many cachers that have neither an iPhone nor an Android phone.
