+jststmpit Posted August 30, 2010 Share Posted August 30, 2010 Can anyone give me some helpful advice. I haven't downloaded any new geocaches since around May or June of this year onto my GPS. When I plugged my device into the pc, it says it does not recognize the new hardware. When I go to Delorme to get an update, it seems to update fine, but when I download the gc to my gps, it gets hung up on the "recognizing device" and won't go any further. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks! Jststmpit I had this on my 40 about a year ago and it turned out that the cable had gone bad.I had to order a new cable. You might try cleaning the contacts on the back of the device real good, you might get lucky. Quote Link to comment
+embra Posted September 1, 2010 Share Posted September 1, 2010 Cable drill: clean the contacts on the PN-20 with a pencil eraser, make sure the spring-loaded contacts are extended in the cable head. If you keep having trouble, give DeLorme TS a call and see if they have any ideas--or if they determine you need a new cable. Quote Link to comment
