+Ruud4d Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Dropped down from #1 to #4. BUT..... My coin is in hands of Zork V who traveled from Ireland through California to North Island, New Zealand. He dipped it in several caches. Added up that makes about 12,000 miles. So when he drops it... Quote
+Shilo Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Hey looks whos tied for first in milage and tied for second in geocachers. Couldn't have fixed the race any better. A little slip of the finger could fix that!! Quote

The Event that Zork V "took it to" on 9/14 doesn't take place till 7 November. That doesn't make any since. According to Zork V's profile he as never been to the cache called "Ardgillan I" where he retrieved it on 10/12. Did he forget to log it? Quote

+Shilo Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 E-mail sent to Shilo to investigate. I obviously overlooked something here. I will look at it when I get home today. The event log looks like it needs to be deleted if the event hasn't been held yet Quote
+Shilo Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 This is why I hate not getting 'took' logs. I was wondering what event you all were talking about. It's on the first page!!! I never looked way back on page one yesterday. Why would I? Obviously the log date is wrong and the event hasn't happened yet. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I need to watch things closer until Groundspeak fixes the 'took' log issue, if they are ever going to. Quote

I need to watch things closer until Groundspeak fixes the 'took' log issue, if they are ever going to. It looks to me like he logged a 'Will Attend' and did a visit with the bug at that time. Funny that GS gives mileage credit for the visit at that time. (It doesn't really make sense to be able to do a VISIT log on a WILL ATTEND). I also noticed that on LAX's Money Pit he logged a Write Note rather than a Discovered, and did a visit there as well. It is a traditional cache, I think he was actually there, but he had been there before. So that would violate rule 2. Quote
+Ruud4d Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 (edited) Hi guys, I have deleted the log myself. Luckily I was wondering about the standings and checked in here. To my surprise I saw the discussion that was going on here. Next time just ask me. I really don't bite Now I have to inform ZorkV of the log-deletion. Edit to add correct mileage: 15 431.94 miles Edited October 23, 2010 by Ruud4d Quote

+Ruud4d Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 That log has been deleted as well. It didn;t do much to the mileage since he took it to The Strand in California as well. Thanks for keeping an eye on my coin I hope the coin will make it back to Cologne in time. Quote
+Team kizb Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 There are still 5 Racers that haven't been picked up from Geocoinfest. Any theory's were they are? Quote
+The Amigos Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Sure wish I had been able to get in on this race!! Quote
+anne.and.eli Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 One of mine has been archived, and the other has never moved. Totally vying for last place!! Firefly03 is the only one standing between me and the loser slot (of highest percentage of coins not moved at 100%!) Quote
+GaryM53 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Thanks for the update My Grandson will be excited to see he is in 2nd place! Quote
+longtomsilver Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 thanks for the update. well I hope that my butterflies, both of them, will make it to our great GCF2011 EU in August. It would be great. Nevermind of the standings. A couple of weeks ago, I was able to get back a coin which I released into the GC-World in august 2006. But it did only 5440km/3380 mi. I lost quite a few of my coins, but luckily this one came back to me. ..my little sock puppet! Good luck to all and great competition. Until next GCF2011 EU I will have to think about something donating. longtomsilver Quote
+AtwellFamily Posted November 19, 2010 Author Posted November 19, 2010 I heard that my Butterfly was going to return to North America in the next few weeks. I expect a large move on the mileage at that point. Quote
+AtwellFamily Posted November 19, 2010 Author Posted November 19, 2010 I am pulling together information on the prizes. They will be big!!! More news to come in the next few months. Quote
+Ruud4d Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I want to appoligize to all who participate in this race. My coin is in first place in the Mileage Standings. But it has been done by 2 cachers. The second cacher is taking it all over New Zealand. I tried to contact him several times but he never responded. Fortunately it has been grabbed by another cacher on 12-12. He says he will take it to Hawaii. Hopefully it will start traveling as it is supposed to do. Quote

I don't think you need to apologize ... he is racking up the mileage, go buddy go!! Mine went through a 'dipping' phase as well, I think it is fine as long as the cacher is finding new caches with it. Quote

Only 1 placement since Sunday and it was to our leader in the mileage category. Guess its the winter weather keeping movements down to a trickle. Quote
+Ruud4d Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I hope the coin will make it from the UK to the mainland of Europe. Perhaps then it can travel to Köln. Quote

+Shilo Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Standings are updated Pretty slow this past week. All the updates were in the bottom half of the standings. Some racers who haven't been moved for a few months are finally moving or at least out in a cache now. Quote
+Shilo Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Standings are updated. Ruud4d's Butterfly Migration 2010 - 2011 Ruud4d's #3 Racer racer has pulled a 37,500 mile lead over 2nd place now. Going to be hard to catch. Quote
+Ruud4d Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 And my #1 racer went from missing to back in action This makes me very happy! Quote
