Does anyone know if the new Garmin GPSMAP62 series allows the Wherigo cartridges to be downloaded like the Oregon Series of GPS's

Does anyone know if the new Garmin GPSMAP62 series allows the Wherigo cartridges to be downloaded like the Oregon Series of GPS's

 

I have looked at the Garmin 62 in the store and I did not see the Wherigo player in the menu.

I have done some research on this because I was rather curious myself. What I found is that the Wherigo's are not compatible on the Garmin 62 Series GPS units. I did find information that is more of a rumor than anything that Garmin is building a firmware update that will allow the 62 series to support the Wherigo cartridges.

It's been some time since the last comment - I still have the GPSmap62... Does anyone know if there's a firmware available for it at this point in time - or will be soon???

Maybe all the GPSMAP 62 users should send a request to contact@Wherigo.com to ask for an update. The Wherigo site tells you to do so... Only if there are enough requests they are willing to build an update.

You'd be sending it to the wrong people. You'd need to contact Garmin for that as it was Garmin that initially approached Groundspeak about having Wherigo on their GPS receivers. Feel free to contribute to one of the feedback threads to help urge Groundspeak to continue Wherigo development.
