+timles
I placed my coin in a cache. A cacher came along, picked up my coin and logged it as "Discovered It" before I had a chance to log it into the cache. I logged the coin into the cache. Now, the coin shows as being in the cache even though it is currently held by the cacher. How can I/we fix the logging, or is it necessary? Will it be looked after when they drop the coin in another cache? Quote Link to comment
+Fiery Searcher
Are you certain the other cacher took it to place it in another cache? The "Discovered it" feature allows geocachers to do just that: discover it without moving it. The coin stays in the cache, but the geocacher still gets the icon of the coin in his/her profile. I do this sometimes if I know I can't help the coin/TB out with its mission/goal. Quote Link to comment
+kehunt64
If the cacher actually removed the coin, it should have been logged as "Retrieved it". Quote Link to comment
+timles
Thanks very much for your replies. I'm not sure that the coin was taken. I also didn't realize the significance of, "discovered it". That being said, my coin is probably still resting in the cache waiting for pickup. Thanks again Quote Link to comment
