+geopons
I am new to geocaching. Is it ok to take a travel bug if you don't leave another in exchange? Quote Link to comment

Yes, if you plan to move it to another cache. TBs aren't swag, they are meant to move from one cache to another. You don't have to leave a TB to pick up another. Quote Link to comment

GOF's Sock Puppet
If you find a cache that tells you not to take one without trading one for it that is called a TB prison. No need to follow that rule. Quote Link to comment
+geopons
Thanks for the responses! I feel better about taking it now, and will move it along. Quote Link to comment
hoosier guy
Remember some TBs have a specific mission (e.g. going to Texas or visiting battle fields) Quote Link to comment
+Squirrel N Turtle
I feel bad we are holding on to a couple of TB's we have gotten int he past week or two, but they all want to travel and we are driving from NY to Georgia and figure we will spread them out down there. But they WILL be moved! Edited August 22, 2010 by Squirrel N Turtle Quote Link to comment
+mesillywoohoo
Thanks for the responses! I feel better about taking it now, and will move it along. Thank you on behalf of that T.B owner and every T.B owner out there...... TB prisons are horrible things Quote Link to comment
+ihorn
Move it, and have fun while doing it. That way you enjoy it. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Remember some TBs have a specific mission (e.g. going to Texas or visiting battle fields) True, but you don't have to directly be able to help it on its mission to take it. Just moving it to another cache in the area is fine. Now if it wants to go to Texas and you find it in a cache in Kansas, the owner might not appreciate it if you put it in a cache in Maine. But they WILL be moved! I am the same way. One of the ones I have picked up is from New Jersey and its goal was to swim around for a while and then return home. It has been swimming since 05 i think, my sister lives in PA and she is coming to visit in a few weeks so she is going to help him return. Quote Link to comment
