Forget which tag applied to bug

enter the tracking numbers into the lookup box on the 'Track Travel Bugs' page (That's the box next to the bar code....)

One of the tags will say that its not activated yet and the other shouold take you to the travelbug page that you created when you set it up....

Then I would recommend using a marker to label the 'Copy' tags for future reference once you release them into the wild.... I know it's saved me from the same headache before...

I don't understand what you mean by change the tag number...

If you've activated it, just edit the TBs page to whatever you want. You can do this as often as you would like.

I guess you don't understand. I activated a travel bug, I used one of my dog tags. I don't know which dog tag I used when I activated the tb. I want to change the dog tag for this tb.

First, just activate all of your tags. Then the activation codes are removed from the problem. (Note: if you plan on giving some of your tags away or trading them or whatever, don't activate those tags. Set them aside).

Now, do a search for the tag number you want to put on your TB. Edit that page so it is correct for the travel bug you want.

Czech, did you keep the "COPY" tag? That's for you too keep with your records. Other than that, I'm not sure if they keep a record of bugs they sent you in the mail. Contact Groundspeak and see if they do. If they can give you a list of the TB's you purchased then you can do a process of elimination.

Why do you want to put a different tag on it, if it already has one? Did you drop the TB in a cache? If so, see who picked it up and if they have a record of the number or where they placed the bug. If you activated the bug then it should show up on your cache page and/or profile, if I'm correct.

When you say you want to change the tag, do you mean you want to attact a different metal tag on the item??????

I did the same thing.

I activated four bugs while they all had the Generic name. Then the question was which web page goes to which tracking number.

I just gave each page a temporary unique name and added a log for each tracking number, the log verbage was the tracking number itself. Viola each web page now lists it's tracking number!

Now simply customize the TB page and delete your log entry (after writing down the name/number).
