Howto: Add A Travel Bug Stat Box To Your Profile

So, suddenly, after today's update, most of my TBs in the StatBox have lost their images and just show a generic bug image. Funny, that's most, not all.

Now this problem has been officially fixed, but 6 of my TBs' images are still showing just the generic. What do I need to do to fix them?

We forgot to thank you - my sister used this to create a page for our duck races:

Thank you very much!

Little heartbreaking about our race, though .... 2 of my ducks were picked up asap and, within a week, were within 30 miles from the final. Then they were stolen :( (Cache owner marked a ton of TB's missing because the container was muggled).

A Stat Box is a little icon you can place on your public profile that shows the image, name, mileage, and current location of your Traveler. People can also click on the image to access the bug page.

These are the instructions on how to add a stat box to your profile. (Don't worry, it's not hard to do)

Step 1. Make sure you have a default image set on your bug. This will not work without one.

Step 2. Copy this line of code and paste it into a text editor, like Notepad.

<a href="http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=##########"><img border="0"src="http://img.geocaching.com/stats/tb.aspx?guid=##########"></a>

Step 3. Access your bug page and select Edit This Trackable.

Step 4. In the URL address field of your browser, copy off all the little numbers and letters after the guid=

Step 5. Over in your Text editor replace the ########## with the little numbers and letters. Note: The ########## is listed twice, paste the same information in both locations. (Do not replace anything else except the #'s)

Step 6. Copy all that information in your text editor and paste it into your profile.

I prefer to add an HTML paragraph separator <p> on a line before and after so it doesn't interfere with the other details I have on my profile.

If you are adding multiple bugs do not put any HTML break between them and they will line up side by side on your profile page.

Step 7. Submit and view your profile page. (You may need to refresh the screen)

TADA!

Fantastic :) I just saw this posted via CacheFace, I'm going to have a go at this tomorrow, thank you for easy to follow instructions :)

Anything I can do about the pictures being cut off, and also long names running off the bottom? I just set all my TBs up on my profile, and several of the pictures are cut off. My personal nametag picture just shows my torso, no head or legs  .

The ones I don't have a default picture on just show a generic bug image, which is ok. I'll try to get some kind of picture on them.

You'd probably have to reduce the size of the photo which unfortunately means the bug page loses out on a decent photo as well. Nothing I can suggest about the name length other than to submit a new feature request. But considering my current level of cynicism I'm not promising you'll get any response at all.

Yeah, I've gotten a bit cynical about that, too.

I do at least have pictures on all the stat-boxes now.
